We loved coming to Hotel San Cristobal, the hotel is small and doesnt feel overcrowded even though it was full. The food selection was great, the views of the hotel are also incredible. The only thing I wish the hotel would have is a gym and proper spa, you can get a massage but it would have been nice in a more spa like environment. Staff is really amazing at the hotel as well!
Just returned after a three night stay over New Year's Eve. Overall, the hotel is nice, unfortunately there are quite a few things that are lacking that make it spectacular. This hotel was recently taken over by Hyatt and I am afraid that some of the changes are a result of that. We talked to other guests who had been multiple times and shared that they noticed a decline in the property.
First, some of the things I will share below are out of the hotels control in some ways. For example, on New Year's Eve the local fisherman in the lot next door blasted their music directly at the hotel for hours on end. It really ruined the vibe of a remarkable sunset and what could have been an amazing moment.
Everything closes at the hotel at 10p, even on New Year's Eve. You cannot even get a drink at the bar. The hotel promised NYE festivities, a pool party, etc and none of it happened. There was a dinner with a few balloons and that was it.
The flies are a real issues at the hotel. They swarm you while you are eating and this is an issue that really needs to be addressed.
The hotel doesn't really have a soul. Staff is friendly but seem like they are just there to work. We have been to other, similar properties in Mexico and they all seem to have a vibe, personality, etc but that was really lacking here.
I had an incredible massage with Esther - but it was very expensive for a massage only. The hotel has no spa so the treatment took place in the chapel on the property. They use a simple folding massage table, no spa amenities, etc. The service was great but the experience left a lot to be desired.
The rooms are nice, well appointed, nothing fancy but comfortable. Extremely dark at night.
The food is excellent, service can be very slow (especially at breakfast).
I wanted to love it, but some things just fell short to make it great. A solid four star option, but the prices over New Years weren't justified.
An exceptional stay, as always. Beautiful and simple rooms, comfortable beds, incredible location. The food in the restraints and service of staff is next level. Having stayed twice already, I have no doubt I will be back again. Thank you!
Tip: The oceanside rooms can be very loud- those waves hit hard. Light sleepers may prefer poolside or garden view, or pack ear plugs.
We had a wonderful experience. The quiet isolation on the beach was so much nicer to us than the loud, congested environment of most resorts. The food and staff (especially Alexa) were outstanding. We totally agree with other reviews that the view from ocean view rooms is lovely but are so noisy with the crashing surf that we didn’t sleep well. The rooms are a bit dated but clean. The part we were most upset by was the hotel’s upcharge for taxis. Rent a car instead. If the hotel arranges a taxi it is almost double the cost of what you would pay if you called the taxi yourself.
Beautifully thought out property with amazing team - feels both homey and private. Every moment brings beauty and peace.
Incredible stay in Todos Santos, incredible food, service, best location. Central to Los Cerritos, Todos Santos town. Recommend renting a car. We were concerned for staying in a poolside room for noise, but even with a wedding happening the noise was not significant and our view was incredible. With only ~30 rooms this is a cozy, familiar stay!
Beautiful hotel, above and beyond service, excellent food. It was a little further from the airport than we anticipated, but so worth the trip! The onsite hiking trails were really nice!
Completely comfortable in every way, a true place to relax and enjoy the beauty of baja. There for my brother's wedding. 2 things that stood out were the service and the food were both phenomenal. Service people knew us by our first names and catered to our every need, even preparing things that were off menu. Alfonso remembering our preferences and dietary restrictions, so that everyone was healthy and happy. The mission style chapel with arched red brick ceiling was beautiful, serene, and evoked understated Mexican elegance with shades of white, cream, and light warm wood. The candle lit wedding reception tables abundantly adorned with heavy Mexican glass vessels filled with creamy candles shining with love and light - truly could not have been any more romantic. We spent the whole day beforehand relaxing in the emerald tiled pool sipping hand-crafted tropical cocktails. Some relatives went hiking. Some spent a few hours exploring nearby town of Toto Santos. The landscaping and property are pristine. There's truly nothing I would change about it. I wish I had brought a lighted makeup mirror. Other than the dimly lit room, without a magifying mirror, the property was perfection. I will miss the freshest of fish, the melt in your mouth steak, the sauces and salsas, and the crisp cool salads the most. Mango French toast & breakfast burrito with scrambled egg on handmade flour tortilla served with fried cheese wedges, black bean puree and avocado is also quite yummy.
Comparable and with a 5 stars hotel in any coast of Europe and Middle East. Amazing room, food, view and service. Waiting to go back !
Excellent service from the staff.
This hotel literally saved our honeymoon after a few bad days at other places in Todos Santos. From the moment we arrived, everything changed: the place is beautiful, with a very authentic Californian style that makes you feel somewhere special. The room was perfect, super clean, and the views… just incredible.
The vibe is relaxed, the service is top-notch, and everyone working there is super friendly—attentive without overdoing it. The food was delicious too; sure, you can eat cheaper in town, but here it’s totally worth it.
Honestly, one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. 100% recommended.
The Hotel and Staff are incredible. The service they offer is truly 5 star. Everyone from the Valet to the front desk/ restaurant/ pool are all so helpful and genuinely care about your stay. The property itself is beautiful and relaxing. Can’t wait to go back
Absolutely the most incredible place I've ever stayed from the view to the atmosphere to the service to the drinks to the food to the rooms. We LOVED it and cannot wait to go back.
The hotel is a beautiful property in a nice location. One of the issues I had at the location was the cleanliness of the bathroom. The hotel did apologize and compensated me for the inconvenience, which made up for the shortcomings. The other issue was that there was a massive lot of flies, due to the nearby fishermen, which made it uncomfortable to eat meals there. The rain fell heavily, which made it very hard difficult to enjoy my time. The walkways and the balconies do not have any cover, therefore with the heavy rain, I got wet due to the excessive rain and was not able to stay dry while outside. Other than that, it was a good stay.
My wife and I visited Todos Santos for the first time based on friends' recommendations, and we’re so glad we did. We stayed at Hotel Cristobal and had an amazing experience from start to finish.
The property is exactly as advertised—well designed, clean, comfortable, and elegantly understated, set in a truly stunning location. Our oceanfront room was spacious with a breathtaking balcony view, and waking up to the sound of waves was unforgettable.
The staff made our stay exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always welcoming. Huge thanks to Johan, Fernando, Vidal, Alfonso, Sofia, Raul, Naomi, Paco, and Jesús. ¡Muchísimas gracias, amigos!
Todos Santos itself blew us away. From the kind locals and historic charm to the relaxed vibe and incredible food—it exceeded all expectations. We even dined at three Michelin-rated restaurants, including Benno at the hotel, which was a standout. The poolside restaurant also impressed us with its flavors, hospitality, and views of the ocean, beach, and mountains.
Can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!
We celebrated a 50th birthday this weekend with a group of 13. The hotel was incredibly accommodating and the pool side service was great . The concierge helped plan a surprise for my husband and also baked us a cake.
All the guests enjoyed the location, food and vibes. We will be back next year!
This place has been on my list for a long time and it did not disappoint. My husband and I came while our son was at sleep away camp and it was the perfect getaway. The location is spectacular, the rooms and facilities are modern, well maintained and well appointed in every way. The design aesthetic is on point. The vibe is truly relaxing. The staff is extremely friendly, professional and helpful - there was none of that grumpiness that we’ve encountered elsewhere in MX and can be a real buzz kill. The staff is happy and delightful. They were celebrating their Michelin Key with a champagne toast when we were leaving today. A true team. We had an ocean front room and it was literally on the ocean floor- worth the splurge. One morning we watched a pod of dolphins frolicking from our deck. There’s no cage match for the pool chairs and from the pool you enjoy a spectacular view of the ocean. The beach is quiet and peaceful and you can walk for miles. The climate vs. Cabo in the summer is much better - perfect air temp (not too hot) and the ocean was warm and refreshing. The food was delicious with a fine dining experience at Benno and casual Mexican street food at the pool side restaurant. The Friday morning yoga class was a beautiful way to start the day and we loved ringing the gong at sunset.
Keep in mind that it’s not a super-swimmable beach as the surf is fairly rough. If you are a good swimmer and comfortable with the waves you can swim down by the rocks area that’s more protected. I swam there daily and it was great. The only area for improvement was the poolside music. It was mostly great - chill and relaxing which fit the mood - but occasionally it was too loud and not the right vibe for the hotel and place.
Will definitely be coming back and highly recommend!
Absolutely loved this place. Can’t wait to come back. The rooms were nice, clean, and big. Pool and hot tub area was a vibe. Low key and relaxing and people were cool. The food and drinks on site is really good. The staff and customer service was great. Very accommodating and friendly. Highly recommended this place! Great for couples, friends, solo travelers. And they are dog friendly. Was nice not having any kids being loud and splashing around either.
Beutiful place, nice food, great walk up the hill next to property , great views
What a dream! Cocktails in the pool overlooking the ocean were incredible. The staff is so nice and the food was delicious to boot!
