This hotel has no idea about hospitality. The first thing we have heard when we arrived after transatlantic flight and a long night drive was:" you didn't park at the right place it's a place for stuff. We have a party so the parking lot is busy". No help was offered with luggage. Not even the idea if they could get the car keys and park the car themselves as they do in the decent hotel. So we had to drag the suitcases through the gravel parking lot.
No luggage racks in the room. So you have to put your luggage on the floor and be on your knees while unpacking and taking your stuff out. Seems like epitome of eco-friendly.
Nobody on the reception after 9:00 p.m. so if you need something go help yourself .
No fridge in the room. If you want to chill your wine or store the cheese in this cheese and wine country go help yourself.
By the way there is no phone in the room so if you want to call reception there is no way to call no matter what you need toothbrush or help.
No wine glasses in the room. When ask for 2x glasses, we were told we will be charged 5 euro per glass! 10 euro for 2 empty glasses! Yeah, hospitality! Have been traveling throughout Europe, never had been asked to pay for empty glasses! New level of "f** you" by these guys!
At 23.36 party music is coming through the window. Our room is on the opposite side of the building from the restaurant, so music is, probably, very loud. I can hardly imagine what other guests are experiencing.
Clean and efficient
There was so many external people from the restaurant coming in the pool and not respecting the atmosphere of the place
What a great hotel, we had a fantastic and clean room. The staff has been always friendly and helpful with any requests. We arrived late in the afternoon and we could even get a nice late lunch in the Anima restaurant, from experiece usually restaurants close but here we have been welcomed with open arms and enjoyed great local dishes. The breakfast is very nice and great choices with lots of local specialities, you even get any eggs freshly made by a chef and you get to watch while they prepare your eggs, great sevice! We will for sure come back, thank you Almaranto Team for a great stay!

The property is very beautiful and very well located.
The staff, the rules and the inflexibility of the staff. I made a mistake by not reading in between the lines where they said that there weren’t TV or Fridge. My bad! But also, they didn’t have telephone and good air conditioning (it was 30/34 degrees outside). I asked and was told that the air could only go down to 23!!!! I’m in Firenze, in a hotel and the air is 18!
I asked for a late check out and it was ok but at 11 a girl knocked at my door telling me that it was 11 and I should leave the room! I told her about the late check out and yet she turned off the air conditioner at 11!
The restaurant was something else, one day you could not ask for something hot(it was 3, super hot day, and we were at the pool), the other day knowing that we asked for a salad but, on that day, we could not ask for anything green. Very funny!!
One day I lost my second key and politely asked for another and was told that a guest must only have 2 keys!
Lastly, we are a couple in a certain age but the hotel didn’t have a person to help us with the luggage! We had to do everything on our own. Terrible for the client!!!
We have family in Calamandrana so, every year we go there once or twice but this hotel lost us!!!! And it is said as the best in the area!!
What a great property - located in an area with rolling hills and beautiful wineries. Great scenery and views. Beautiful grounds, excellently appointed rooms. High end decorations and fixtures in the rooms. Very comfortable beds and Nice linens. Enjoyed both The pool and restaurants.
Overall a wonderful stay, the staff was really great with good intel about the area around the hotel and a personal treatment. The resort helped us book bikes to go around the area which was lovely. They also helped us book a wine tasting at Ferraris that we really enjoyed.
We look forward becoming back in the near future!
