Upon arriving I was impressed with the overall look and feel of the property. The pool was nice and relaxing. and pool service was good.
However, the accommodations/ room were horrendous. There was mosquitoes in the room., the door did not properly shut. Broken appliances, water faucet and electrical outlets did not work.
We do not recommend.

Do not stay here! The unit and property are nowhere near what the pictures show. The kitchen had food in the sink and garbage in the trash. There was an extra unworking refrigerator in the dining room. The lights in the second bedroom would not turn off. The air conditioner was noisy all night. The couch was missing cushions and the door latches were dirty and lose. The showers were coated in mold. This place has not been cleaned or maintained in many years. We were charged a small fortune for one night and this place was terrifyingly gross. I know some reviews come off as complaining, and this one probably does too. Please do not ignore this warning; do not stay here.

Nice but not so nice.
Pros:

The conditon is old and did not realize it is a airbnb. It smells bad. Has a nice layout but needs major upgrading. They said there was restaurants but there wasnt. No amenities. The location was great. Lots of things were broken around the hotel and room. Would not pass safely inspection in the US. No free beach club access either as stated on site.

Excelente la atención de nuestro host y del personal en general, siempre muy atentos a cualquier requerimiento de nuestra parte. A mejorar, la condición de algunas cosas del apartamento (310). El apartamento 303 al que fuimos trasladados después de unos días de nuestra estancia es muy bonito, pero igual tiene cosas por mejorar como las duchas y el lavamanos. El jacuzzi no servia.

En general muy buen lugar para hospedarse muy cerca a la playa y a la 5a avenida.

Es un hotel muy lindo y con una ubicacion inmejorable. A una cuadra d la playa y a una cuadra d la 5ta Ave. Yo viaje en medio d una tormenta, y todo el tiempo se preocuparon y ocuparon d todo. Los aptos estan bonitos y comodos.

The Aldea Thai property itself was nice. The pool area was clean. The room that we had #108 overlooked the street and the noise at night was loud. The room was not very modern. The pictures weren’t accurate. The toilet seat was broken off the toilet
when we arrived, as it was held on by zip ties. Gerry did place other zip ties on it and we noticed that the bathroom faucet was changed during our stay.
I feel like I overpaid for what our room was and I will shop around more next time.
The proximity to the Beach and 5th Ave were nice.

Pros:

Las fotografías que muestran en el portal como el lugar para el hospedaje no coinciden, mas que por el tamaño. El equipamiento es muy diferente, la cerradura de la puerta esta dañada, se batalla para cerrar y abrir, si no te das cuenta no cierra correctamente. Le falta mantenimiento a la habitación en todos los aspectos.

Lo único bueno es la ubicación, la cama estaba muy mal, el cuarto olía a humedad, el baño olía muy mal, las toallas eran viejas, las cortinas estaban manchadas de hongos por humedad.

Todo muy bien! Es la segunda vez que me hospedo en Aldea Thai, y planeo regresar pronto! La cama es muy cómoda, y la vista al mar que se tiene desde el balcón es muy linda. Desde luego hay cosas que se pueden mejorar, pero en general es una excelente opción para alojarse en Playa del Carmen

It is definitely a fantastic place to stay in Playa del Carmen. The location is very convenient, as you can get everywhere from here. The beach is right next to the hotel.And it is very clean and pretty. The Penthouse where I stayed with my family is HUGE. It is two stories and on the roof you have a terrace and a pool with a private ocean view. I would love to return soon

Everything excellent! The hotel is very well located, next to Mamitas Beach and a few steps from 5th Avenue. The apartment was very nice and spacious. The service was very good, the host Gerardo was very helpful and attended to all our requests. He also helped us plan the activities we were going to do. I highly recommend it to families and groups looking for a spacious place near the sea. 10/10
