I thoroughly enjoyed my entire stay, so much, that I booked an additional night. This was a birthday visit and the staff went above and beyond, even the staff at 1509 as well with a 15% discount on dinner as guests of the kress, free Rock climbing as a guest right next door to the Kress, first Friday celebration, brunch at Reid's Apothecary down the street, the farmers market at Mary Ross Park, shopping on Newcastle, enjoying one of the park areas near the hotel...I felt so very special. The Kress is my go to luxury hotel every year for my birthday!

Room was lovely and service friendly. But, we were not told that our room, Gloucester, shared a wall with a bar next door. Noise level at night was severe and unacceptable. We were furnished a noise machine which helped during week nights, but on weekend nights, the machine was completely drowned out by the noise. On Saturday night, the room was literally shaking. Sleep was impossible until the bar closed (after midnight).
Hotel was full and we were prepaid so we were stuck. Desk clerk was sympathetic and said she would talk with a mysterious "management" who was not at the property. We were furnished a number to call which was never answered. It became obvious the hotel would not do anything. We requested a refund for at least one of four nights and was told "management" would call. Of course, they did not.
Too bad. Ruined the stay.
Do not rent Gloucester room! I assume other rooms in the hotel are better but failure to disclose the problem with this room was unprofessional.
Way surpassed all expectations! Rooms are amazing. We rented Grant and Eichberg rooms. Beautiful heart pine flooring and doors. Huge two bedroom suites with 15-20 foot ceilings. Great baths and kitchen. Nice furnishings and comfortable beds. One of nicest boutique hotels I have ever stayed out. Great roof top bar and cigar selection! Can’t recommend more highly!

This is the most beautiful property! It is hard to describe! We have stayed in a lot of places and this is the nicest yet! The price was very good. It’s more like an elegant apartment. If you get the chance, stay here. Front desk people were great. Located in the heart of downtown Brunswick
Room was spacious with a usable kitchen. Upscale amenities and very comfortable. Can park your car and walk to many restaurants, bars and shopping.
The hotel is just beautiful, There is a Noisy gym next door but quiets down in the evening. There is a great restaurant upstairs on the rooftop.
Stringent check-in and not allowed to try until after 4:00 which is fine but did not offer to take luggage. 10:00 next morning they are ringing the bell to clean. You pay a great deal for little time.
