Punta Allen est authentique par rapport à Tulum
Pros:

Un petit hôtel constitué de bungalows qui est spécialisé et reconnu pour la pêche sportive, isolé, tranquille et calme, idéal pour la lecture et le repos : en pleine réserve de la biosphère. Le petit village est à 10 mn max de marche par la plage charmant, simple, avec des gargottes ou restaurants de pêcheurs excellents

Cons:

Le cout, celui des excursions trop dispendieux (mais nous étions en temps des fêtes, donc en très haute saison). Pas vraiment pour la baignade (crocodiles mais nous en sommes en pleine réserve). Des sargasses et des déchets plastiques sur la plage tout du long (phénomène généralisé sur cette côte). Hôtel respectueux mais beaucoup trop de petites bouteilles d'eau en plastique distribuées chaque jour.

Pros:

Mooi afgelegen plekje voor als je rust zoekt en wil vissen.

Cons:

Zeer teleurstellende ervaring.
De bereikbaarheid van het hotel is een serieus probleem. De weg ernaartoe verkeert in extreem slechte staat: 45 km diepe kuilen en plassen, waardoor vaak niet harder dan circa 20 km/u kan worden gereden. Zonder 4x4 geen optie om er te komen! De 45 km vanaf Tulum bedraagt ongeveer drie uur. Het hotel is hiervan op de hoogte, maar vermeldt dit niet in de accommodatieomschrijving. Bij aankomst werd aangegeven dat de situatie niet zal verbeteren.

Het strand lijkt bij aankomst verzorgd, maar dit beperkt zich tot een klein gedeelte direct bij het hotel. Enkele meters verder ligt veel aangespoeld afval en plastic. Zwemmen in zee bleek volgens het hotel niet mogelijk. Het zwembad bood geen alternatief, aangezien dit er vies uitzag.

De kamers zijn gedateerd. Veel voorzieningen zijn versleten of verroest en gordijnen beschimmeld; de jacuzzi was niet bruikbaar en er zat bloed op een kussensloop. Ook het meubilair op de veranda is oud en vuil. Er zijn nauwelijks activiteiten beschikbaar en de aangeboden opties zijn zeer kostbaar (bijvoorbeeld een vistocht van 500 dollar).

Wij hebben onze klachten tijdens het verblijf kenbaar gemaakt. Het hotel heeft hiervoor geen enkele oplossing of compensatie geboden. Uiteindelijk hebben wij zelf voorgesteld een klein openstaand bedrag niet te betalen als minimale compensatie. Dit werd met duidelijke tegenzin en boosheid geaccepteerd, zonder verdere opvolging of servicegerichte oplossing.

Conclusie: gezien de slechte bereikbaarheid, het gebrek aan onderhoud en de manier waarop klachten worden afgehandeld, is dit hotel de reis en de kosten niet waard.

Onbetaalbare zonsopkomst vanuit ons verblijf direct op het strand
Pros:

De rit naar deze afgelegen locatie was erg hobbelig en zonder een 4x4 af te raden. Maar doordat we deze tocht wel hebben gemaakt, was onze blijdschap des te groter bij het zien van dit resort direct aan het strand. Er waren weinig kamers waardoor ons verblijf erg persoonlijk voelde. De kamer en badkamer was heel erg ruim en het ontbijt was inclusief. Het uitzicht, direct aan zee, was geweldig! Elke dag hebben we weer enorm genoten van de geweldige zonsopkomst: onbetaalbaar!

Cons:

1 van de personeelsleden in de ontbijtzaal heeft klaarblijkelijk geen zin om te werken en zal ook niet zijn zin doen om ooit een lach op zijn gezicht te toveren. Het zwembad was vies bij aankomst, de kussens van de lounge bij het restaurant waren niet netjes klaar gelegd en bij vertrek was er geen dankbaarheid voor de fooi.

Verwacht geen schoon strand! Het is echt een aangespoelde vuilnisbelt op het strand. De medewerkers kunnen daar natuurlijk niks tegen doen, maar dit is wel onderdeel van de ervaring..

Quite break from the hustle and bustle of Riviera Maya
Pros:

- really quick check in and they waited for us with welcome drinks
- specious and clean room, cleaned every day, big and comfortable beds, complementary coffee and plenty of bottles of water provided
- beach towels provided
- good choice of food for breakfast (you can get coffee, tea, juice, milk, bread, marmalade, yogurt, oatmeal and plus choose something that is on the menu)
- 5 minutes on foot from the center of the village where you can find and 3 /4 restaurants
- they can arrange boat trips to see the lagoon, dolphins, go snorkeling,..
-attentive and friendly staff

Cons:

-the road was in terrible conditions, really bumpy, full of huge holes and it was a hole after another with no pause. It’s better to have a SUV, a 4 x 4 if you go by car. It took us 4 hours for 45km from Tulum beach.
So, definitely go by boat!!!!!
-the beach was full of grass (minor problem) and plastic (major problem) in front of the hotel and all along for kilometers. It should be cleaned like in Reserva de la Biosfera Rio Lagartos where it’s cleaned 4 times and where the beach is stunning.

Beautiful Location, clean and comfortable rooms. Direct beach access. Gracious & friendly hosts. Especially Manuel & his wife the directors took the best care of us & our stay. We felt warm welcome

Pros:

Hotel has great potential, but is very poorly managed. This is a very expensive hotel and does not provide a service in line with what is charged.
The beach is gourgeous, but full with plastic waste that comes from the sea. All neighboring hotels and restaurants clean their beaches, this one does not.
Additionally, the hotel charges disproportionate prices on everything: transfer from Cancun airport is 3x more than what we paid, a meal is 2x more than any restaurant in the village, a tour to the natural reserve is 3x more expensive.

Comfortable but overpriced.
Pros:

Big rooms, good amenities, activities were well organised.

Cons:

The food was better at the camping next door and the beach should be cleaned for the price of the rooms. The sheets were stained, again given the price paid this should not happen.
