The property itself it’s a beautiful old house in the great neighbourhood full of restaurants, bars , coffee shops and just stunning architecture all around . We stayed in the red room which was huge and super comfortable. Special mention and thanks to Maye who is super helpful and actually added some really excellent itinerary to our schedule we would not otherwise known. All the staff and the owner are lovely people and I thoroughly recommend this place
Breakfast was really good, and staff were very helpful
Their dogs were quite intrusive, and our room was a little dark and small
Beautiful environs. Easy to walk to many sites, metro close.
One small thing- hard pillows…
Location and charm
Room a little small but we weren’t there to stay in to room.
All staff are wonderful
Localização e atenção dos funcionários. Ótimo café da manhã.
Achei o quarto simples para a proposta.
The staff is exceptional and went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast they offer is pretty delicious! Overall, the place is very quiet and calm.
I understand it may be for security, but having to wait for someone to buzz us in every time we arrived was a little tedious.
The property was very modern with an “old world” charm. The owner,Guy as well as the “concierge ”( for lack of a better term), Guillermo, were the most attentive staff I have ever encountered at a hotel or B&B. They were exceedingly pleasant and helpful, making very appropriate suggestions for possible activities or places to eat. Overall the experience was beyond all expectations. This is an absolute hidden gem.!
Absolutely nothing!
The staff was terrfic: exceeding helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to be accommodating.
This is a charming but very ecletic property: no two rooms are alike and it functions more like an Air B&B than a hotel. The lighting in my room was inadequate as was the closet space. A walll-mounted television stuck out dangerously close to the entrance to the bathoom and the shower was difficult to operate. In addtion, the owner's dog barked repeatedly in the middle of the night.
The location was good. I had stayed in Condessa the week before which was more charming and 1/3 the cost , but it was very central for most things we wanted to do .
The smell. I have stayed in old hotels before , so when I waked in and it smelled a bit moldy I tried not to panic. My son’s room was in another newer building and smelled fine. When I went up to my room, the second floor smell was worse and my room, which was a suite, was horrible .
I tried to make it work . We bought incense and opened the windows during the day but it was nauseating . I asked a staff person if we could move and she said that our room (which was over $600 for a “suite” )and my son’s room was not . After 3 of 5 nights , we finally decided to move and found a 2 bedroom airbandb around the corner for less than the cost of our room. It was immaculate and well located . The only problem was when we got there, the smell of my pajamas was so intense I had to wear clothes to bed and put them in a garbage bag until I got home !
The staff person had been very understanding and had apologized for our experience . A few days later I still wasn’t refunded and she then informed me that booking.com policy stated that my room was non refundable unless I had cancelled within 7 days. I explained that this was an extenuating situation and that the hotel was not tolerable for us and that we had moved with her assurance that we would be refunded . She then stopped responding .
I tried contacting booking.com as well and have not yet received a response .
Maison du compte is a terrible hotel and also the suite is truly a rip off . The second “room” is a very large , sparse ,
walk in closet, with rough wooden shelves along the walls and a curtain rod with mismatched hangers . The entire situation was a huge disappointment .
Breakfast was excellent, and the patio was beautiful
The room for the two of us was a bit small, but we lived with it
Charming , authentic home away from home. Ideal location. Amazing staff.
The property was really beautiful. The decor was impeccably tasteful and the art which adorned the walls was very curated. Our room was really spacious too which added to the sense of luxury.
The staff were superb and attentive. The main host, Mayela was very knowledgeable about the city and extremely helpful with recommendations.
Not necessarily a problem, but to leave and enter the property required ringing a bell for a member of staff to open the front gate. They were always quick to respond and were available 24hours.
