Pros:

El lugar es precioso, pero casi inaccesible. No solamente el camino, sino las escaleras estaban muy mal mantenidas y no tenía personal para ayudarnos con las maletas. Somos mayores y no pudimos quedarnos en el hotel.

Great place, amazing views!
Pros:

Hotel Ruunda probably has the best view in San Augustinillo! The climb up to the hotel is steep, but well worth it. The staff is super friendly, we had a great time watching the sea and the sunrise from there every morning. Javier at the reception is a great guy, and he will accommodate all your needs!

Inaccuracies in description: hotel not finished
Pros:

The views from Hotel Ruunda are AMAZING!!! But … construction hasn’t been completed and the description is inaccurate: there are NOT individual pools, nor is there free transport to the beach! The road to get there is insanely steep - in fact impassable to several taxis. There is also no dinner served. So, we had to go to town for dinner and hike up the steep steep “driveway” at night.

Pros:

A very beautiful view and the bed is really comfy. The staff was really friendly.

Cons:

As a solo female traveler without car or bike I can't recommend this place. It's a long steep way by foot and most taxis rejected to drive up to the hotel. There was no option to eat dinner at the hotel and there was no place nearby (nor a fridge in the room).

Also, the check-in was a bit weird - I couldn't pay with card and they calculated (and recalculated) the price rather than sticking to what had been said on booking.

Lastly, the room looked a bit different than on the pics.

Hotel Ruunda in San Augustinillo, Oaxaca.
Pros:

If you are looking for a friendly, comfortable place away from it all and close to nature, this place is for you. It’s a bit of a jaunt to get to and not for people with mobility issues due to the many stairs and steep climb but the views are stunning and you will definitely feel one with nature there.
