Incredible location and staff

The hotel was very clean, the bed comfortable and it was a good location one block from the beach. We could hear the ocean from our room. In-room Breakfast service was very good. Downtown Carmel is about a 15 minute walk or you can take their car service. Walking worked for us but if you are not a walker you might want to be closer to town. The room and bath were nice, with great fluffy towels, turn-down service with cookies, nice linens, but the balcony was tiny and a little dirty, and right next to balconies from other rooms with no privacy. Since we payed $800 per night, it was a surprise to find a large hole in our sheets, low water pressure in the shower, and no iron or ironing board in the room (there was a steamer). Overall it was a nice, quaint and quiet place to stay, but not worth the high price IMHO.

Incredible visit - the staff made our whole stay in Carmel one to remember. The level of service was above and beyond.

Amazing room and the ocean view was great. The only thing I would change about the room is the water pressure in the shower. Other than that, the stay was perfect.

Great cottage type hotel near the beach. Perfect for Carmel.

The fireplace in our room did not work, and every day we asked them to fix while receiving promises that it will. Never happened during the 4 nights we were there.
This was annoying as we paid extra to find a place with a fireplace.

What's worse, is that the fireplace spontaneously turned on sometime during night which woke us up due to the intense heat (~2:30am during the 2nd night there). We couldn't turn off the fireplace and there was no one available to help. We couldn't sleep with the heat and the air conditioning turned on wasn't strong enough to help.

Next day they had maintenance go in to find a way to turn it off.

The management was unresponsive to requests to correct or compensate us for the uncomfortable stay.

We like absolutely everything including the hospitality.

Super location. Near public beach, sunsets, walk to town but still peaceful/restful. Nice surprise-serves decent food and has outdoor fireplace and sitting areas.

What a gem! This is a real find, perfect location. One block from scenic road & beach, and 5 blocks from Carmel Village. The entire staff is professional & friendly and a special "shoutout" to the Asst. Manager,Raffi! He was very accommodating and made our stay extra memorable! We will definitely be back!

If you are a true ocean lover then you will definitely enjoy this hotel in this location! The hotel is exactly 150 steps to one of the most stunning beaches in California. You can sit on your balcony and watch the sunset and hear waves crashing. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The bed is perfectly comfortable and cozy. The soaking tub and water pressure were exemplary. All of the employees were warm, incredibly helpful, and friendly. A courtesy car takes you to town for dinner and picks you up so that you don't have to walk. Sitting around the warmth of the firepit topped off the relaxing evening and was extra special treat. You can order whatever you want for breakfast and it is delivered to your room impressingly fresh and huge. To be honest after reading the reviews I was a bit scared but so very glad picked this hotel. It was a very beautiful and quaint experience.
