I was warned about the size of the room, but it was more compact than expected.
For my trip the hotel's location was great - by Times Square and within 5 mins walk to 2 subways.
My room (33rd floor) for the most part was clean and tidy. It is compact, but for my solo trip served its purpose well; it was cosy and the bed was comfy. I think the room is well suited to solo travellers and couples.
I really liked the wash products and that my room had a complimentary steamer. There was a resort fee payable and I was kept stocked with water and snacks.
The staff were very professional, helpful and friendly. Concierge sorted my transport to airport and they were really helpful when I had to change my hotel departure time because of an unexpected airline issue.
Considering it's NYC, by Times Square, and compared to pricing or other hotels nearby I think I paid a somewhat decent price.
The hotel room walls are thin. I could hear everything, especially the angry woman next door who was effing and blinding over the phone. I was out and about most of the day, but felt this was significant in the mornings (at least my other neighbour had good taste in music). I found it weird, because the windows did a brill job of blocking the city noise - my room was right by an air con unit and I only heard it raging when I opened the window for a bit of air.
The shower water was not always hot... on a couple of days it was just on the right side of lukewarm. I also felt that the table underneath the tv could have done with a dusting.
it’s cramped and badly designed. there is no space to unpack the suitcase. we were tripping over our suitcases and no privacy as toilet is made of a glass screen. when you flush the toilet everybody wakes up. this includes your neighbors when they use their toilet you definitely hear this too. very unpleasant experience and staff are grumpy too which is no surprise really having to work like this. we moved after only 2nights as couldn’t take it anymore. if you want to sleep at night definitely avoid if possible
food served cold in the restaurant-we had to send it twice. just too many things went wrong one after another. my suggestion is to avoid or wait for the staff to be replaced and find a more pleasant hotel next door. pity on the grumpy staff ruining it this badly. dirty coffee cups and fork with dry egg marks. nobody’s checking and we were told from other guests the same. we checked out after 2nights as couldn’t take it anymore.
