At 5:45am, there was no staff to be found and no coffee anywhere. Another lady and I wandered around yelling “hello” looking for someone.
Everything especially the location
Rooftop bar was nice .. but lacked any background music or entertainment for a Friday night vibe.
Check in was on the 6th floor and no parking lot to park. Had to pay valet to park car.
I was traveling alone and felt completely safe. I liked that the bar/restaurant was on the 6th floor. Everybody working there was very polite and helpful. While the selection was limited, the food was surprisingly good.
The barstools are too low for most people. Fortunately, there are plenty of other seating options.
Location was good.
The valet parking
The lemonade in reception 🩷
The unique room configuration
The gym is well equipped
The music from the DJ was exceptional
The drink tokens were a nice perk
The food was really quite good -naan bread & the chicken nachos
The staff - every single person!💋
The mural art
The Starbucks on the first floor-super handy
The sun in my eyes at the treadmill early in the morning, but the view was amazing
The shower floor seemed a little slippery.
The shower fixture was really kinda leaky at the joints. Which wasn't actually a problem as a guest, but might need to be looked at😊
Room Wes’s very small not even room for suitcase and no closet
Registration bar area
Rooms are small, but efficient
Most inviting common room I’ve ever seen.
Very small room
The decor on top floor
The additional pet fee that I thought was included in my original booking
Stayed in a lot of Moxy's at this point and this was our favorite layout with the check-in, bar, and rooftop all on the same level. Moxy design is great and modern. Starbucks downstairs is nice though we didn't use. The rooftop and lounge level are incredible in this one - tons of seating, incredible views of the Ravenel, and DJ's both nights we were there. Friendly staff. Rooms are the same as any other Moxy - small but efficient, all you need. Like the help-yourself closet items on every floor, just makes sense. Free coffee was good.
This location is about 10 years ahead of its time. Still a pretty raggedy neighborhood around it, with tons of empty lots and weird businesses and busy roads. The only hotel-option for parking is the $35 nightly valet, which seems kind of crazy given the location. I'm assuming their plan is to build a garage next door in the empty lot? Who knows. The valet is weird too -- even though they were awesome and kept my truck (and shit) parked inside the entire time, the majority of the cars are parked up outside on the street anyway...which you should probably just do yourself. There aren't any nearby city garages unles you want to walk 4-5 blocks. Location is definitely the worst part.
