Hotel Manteo, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

Arrived 30 minutes after check in time of 3pm. Was given key cards and upon entering the room realized room was never cleaned from last occupant. Pizza boxes, trash, unkempt bed linens.
Went to desk and notified them. Was asked to wait 20 minutes.
Upon re-entering the room noticed a musty mildew smell that never went away. Hairs in shower.
Hot/cold were reversed from handle indicators in shower so wife took cold shower not knowing cold meant hot and hot meant cold.
Outside the room there is a porch area with plastic lounge chairs. They were filthy and sticky. Window sills were filthy. Trash can top was filthy. Looks like they haven't cleaned outside the rooms in several years.
For the price I guess its what you would expect.
With a name like Windam I expected better.
Looks like Windam bought a small hotel with a couple outbuildings passing as satellite rooms and put their money into remodeling the rooms but not much money was spent outside. The floor felt like some spots had rotting issues in subfloor.
Black top drive areas full of pot holes.

It was poorly newly painted with paint splattered everywhere. Sink was stopped and drained extremely slowly.
The floor was dirty..black sandy dirt that made the bottom of the feet black.
One chair in the room for 2 people. I usually try to see the good, but it was just an unpleasant and uncomfortable stay.
First appearance was nice with clean updated lobby.
True disappointment and cannot cancel through booking .com

The pictures posted on their site are very dated and the property is not as clean and crisp as it seemed. Our 5 day stay no one came to clean the room and we had to go get our own towels. Paid for pool view but pool was closed the entirety of trip, should have been informed of that. The shower and the toilet were stained. Just wish I would’ve gotten a super 8 or something for half the price if the only thing it was good for was sleep.

One of the curtains was missing a draw handle so you couldn’t do anything with the curtain. The bathroom mirrors had absolutely no lighting. This is room 102. And the pool was closed when I checked in and found this out I told them I would be checking out in the morning. They didn’t bother to tell me until I checked out that I would have to call Booking.com to get a refund since I booked third-party. The person I was talking to was the same person I had spoken to on Friday two or three different times. She never once told me there was any issues with the pool. I have a friend who is a local and we decided to stay at the hotel together and enjoy the pool. I was not refunded and nobody wants to help refund me.

This hotel is not worthy of Wyndam credit. Room lacked hair dryer and cups. Got it from desk. Pool was closed the first day. Third day, no pool towels. No place to hang anything. No room cleaning or daily make up. Reviews are mixed and deserve to be.

The latch was broken off of our door as if someone had forced the door open. They had a portable dehumidifier rigged up along with the regular ac unit so it was extra loud. The beds were gross. The room reeked of bleach. The shower was also gross. The light between the beds would randomly turn itself on as if it was possessed. There was one electrical outlet between the beds but it was pretty worn out so it was difficult to keep the plug installed. There is a pizza place on site but they had no pepperoni on a friday evening. Avoid this place if you can.

The water didn't drain inside tub so I couldn't shower

Wish they had served breakfast, but we knew they didn't when we booked so that is our fault.

The corners of the floor, behind the bed, and some other hard to reach spaces were still dirty. The mattress had plywood underneath it to support the bed which felt a little unorthodox… there was a light in the bathroom that didn’t work. The door didn’t seal very well (led to the outside) and we could hear people and smell cigarette smoke all night.

Stayed in a “motel” style room in what I thought was a hotel.

The worst hotel we have ever stayed at. No sink in bathroom, so had to use tiny sink with bar faucet in kitchenette for brushing teeth and face washing. Sink drain was rusted. Water was foul with a heavy sulfur smell. Room ac not good so a dehumidifier was used which required emptying 3-4x a day. Room was abnormally humid regardless of dehumidifier use. Furniture old and dirty. We left a day early since room so bad. Hotel staff was disinterested. We paid to have a room with pool view but given parking lot view. Hotel had no nice area to hang out in evening. Location not near restaurants or downtown. Horrible experience stay at Hotel Manteo. No room updating as website indicated. Picture with nice bathroom on booking.com was totally misleading.

Shower head damaged

Pictures of the property are not accurate to how the place looks in person.

Pool out of service, manager told me there is a mold problem in every building but the main one. Obviously not cleaned considering the tooth paste on the mirror, coffee grounds around the coffee maker, hair and toothpaste in the sink, sand in the bath tub.

When I asked for another room I was takin from a king room with a pull out couch to a double queen rom that seemed more clean but there was a bag over the smoke detector, poop stain in the toilet, hand prints on the mirror
