We have stayed here twice and absolutely love it would go back. It’s so clean and everyone is so friendly. The waterfront is amazing and the fire pit we roasted marshmallows.
There is nothing we do not like
It was a wonderful place! Nicer that I ever hoped. Only issue was no coffee filter but rectified as soon as I found cleaning lady. It’s a not to miss place!
Sink in bathroom drained slowly but did drain… can’t really say that was bad?
Location close to Pine Island
No windows in the living room, which is dark/ no natural light. No access to the pool directly from the unit. No light in the barbecue area so it’s hard to enjoy dinner by the water.

We absolutely loved our stay at Matlacha on Shoreview! Tucked away and wonderfully quiet, it felt like a true off-the-beaten-path retreat. The staff went above and beyond—so friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home.
We especially enjoyed the complimentary kayaks for exploring the water and really appreciated having laundry facilities available during our stay. A special highlight was the Memorial Day reception with delicious snacks and beverages—it was such a thoughtful touch that made the holiday feel extra special.
This place is a hidden gem, and we can’t wait to come back!
The smell of the room was nauseating .To offset the smell I kept the air on at 73 and opened the window for the duration of my stay with good results. The person I spoke with was very helpful When I checked in and with the wifi:)
Always love staying at Matlacha on Shoreview! Great property, quiet and relaxing with a great view of the water. All the amenities you would want! Highly recommend!
This place is absolutely precious. Loved the location and the amenities. The bed was not as comfortable as I would want, but other than that, this place is recommended stay!
Lovely little propery for the price!
What a great place! We had a one bedroom with sofa bed and 1 bath. There was plenty of space. The bed and sofa were extremely comfortable. The furnishings were well done. Free wifi is always nice. Love how the property is laid out and they offer so many amenities. Direct water access with incredible views and kayaks or bring your own . Fishing rods to use off the docks, beautiful swimming pool area, tiki hut and gas grills, parking for large trailers and much much more.
There was a little wear and tear and minute amount of mold in bathroom. Air conditioner in living room may need servicing. Other than that... Nothing!

The room was spotless, quiet and it is in a great location in proximity to Matlacha and Pine Island, which is where I spent my time. The best part was the communication with Stacy in the office. She made the process easy, was personable and friendly, responsive and I enjoyed meeting her and having a conversation about the area. It was very informative! Overall, an excellent choice. I travel extensively for my work, so I have points and status at multiple large hotel chains. However, Matlacha on Shoreview is exactly the type of place I like to stay when not working. It's a place I will return to again and one that I am almost reluctant to talk about because I want to keep it a secret!
