CLOSE TO WATER.
This was supposed to be a four-star hotel. In reality, it's just a high-rise motel. There is only one person on duty. There was no bellboy, manager, or service. We paid $200 a night and were supposed to get bathrobes without having to ask for them. But there was no way, even though they were included in the price. We had to beg for them and show proof that they were included. The bathrobes we received the next day were not ironed and were in terrible condition. The receptionist didn't know anything. When we asked for the manager, he was unavailable. It was my birthday, so we asked for wine glasses. All this so-called "four-star hotel" could offer were styrofoam cups. The whole hotel is plastic. They even sold coffee in the lobby only in plastic cups. This so-called "four-star hotel" only has the rates of a "four-star hotel," but it's actually an ordinary motel that you find on highways for $50 a night: no service, no glasses, no silverware. The air conditioning made an unbearable noise at night, like an industrial machine. We could not sleep. Although Booking.com promised us a high floor with a beautiful view, the hotel said, "No ma'am, no high floor for you," even though we paid $200 a night and the Booking.com receipt explicitly said we were supposed to get a high floor. We also had to pay an additional $25 per night for parking. When we asked if we could leave our car in the hotel parking lot for an extra hour to get breakfast in the morning, we were told, "When you check out, get your car out." This hotel is a nightmare. The staff member had no clue about anything and was very arrogant and rude. The only thing the person at the front desk did was look at her smartphone. Terrible!
We recommend that Booking.com be more honest in its advertising and not sell us a lemon at the price of a four-star hotel. We have lost all trust in Booking.com.
Nada
Great location. Very comfortable, with a pleasant view…
Nothing. It’s not cheap, but you pay for quality…
Good location
No parking spot . Valet parking full. Overpriced. Balcony too small
Location and pics online, plus the suite
Room was poorly thought out. Second bed can’t see the tv where they mounted it. The furniture, all of it, is so uncomfortable.
Great location close to downtown Saint Pete. Walking with distance to beach Drive, the pier, downtown bars. The corner suite was excellent with amazing views of the bay.
Only downfall is very limited parking on site which typically requires offsite parking several blocks away
Location, coffee place
It is a 3 star hotel not 4 as published...
No lobby except the coffee shop, no room service or bar, no laindry service, and the a/c was super noisy even when turned off.
Location , room , lobby
Exceptional customer support throughout the check-in process.
Convenient location for my needs
Parking is a HUGE PROBLEM
I had to park down the street at another property
I should have just parked across the street at the parking garage- same charges would have applied, $20 per day
Security could be another problem- second floor door to outside always open - giving access to all floors
Just a few streets away from the action, the Galaxy Hotel is in a quiet area - easily walkable to most of what downtown St Pete's has to offer. Beds were comfortable (honestly the main thing as I'm not spending a ton of time in the room aside from that!)
I know rain head showers are popular, but as someone who doesn't want to get their hair wet every day I prefer a shower that I can direct a little more. It would have been great to get complementary water each day, not just on arrival, but we were able to fill our bottles on a different floor of the hotel.
The other thing, which I'm not sure was any fault of the hotel or not -- I booked via booking.com back in February, got all the confirmations. But on arrival at the hotel they had no record in their system of the reservation. Ultimately they were able to resolve but I could certainly have done without those 20 mins of wondering if I was going to have to look for another hotel at 11.30pm
