Historic building, excellent staff, great location for activities in downtown Asheville.
I really appreciated the beverage station and little touches like hand written note, beverage, and little token when I checked in. A lovely stay!
Great location and very friendly staff.
No gym…but they are putting one in soon!
Great property, staff and location.
Room could have had a little more space. It was a tad tight.
Built in 1926, this beautifully maintained and restored hotel is in the middle of downtown Asheville. The location is great, walking distance to good restaurants and interesting shopping. The beds are magnificently comfortable. Each floor has its own coffee, ice, and drinks room. While the idea of ground coffee in a teabag may be off-putting, don’t worry. They make some of the best coffee I have ever had – smooth and delicious. While there is a modern elevator, the two 1920’s vintage elevators are still operating, and if you’re lucky, you might snag a ride in one of them. There are wonderful restaurants on the ground floor, the speakeasy in the basement, and the Flat Iron Rooftop, which offer the brews from local breweries, a great wine list, and crafted cocktails. Best of all is the wonderfully friendly, very professional staff. They all, from front desk and bellmen to housekeeping, make the extra effort to be attentive, smiling, and sincerely helpful. A great experience I hope to repeat someday.
It was so beautiful and unique
Location, staff and everything about it.
Rooms & style of hotel was wonderful. Staff were so friendly & helpful.
Margarita pizza was delicious.
Hotel was convenient to several downtown places wanted to go.
It took a minute or 2 to figure out the lighting controls.
The retro vibe
Too pricey
I was booked into a disability room without letting me know. The room was lacking furniture and the entire bathroom got wet when someone was in the shower. When I asked to change the room because my daughter slipped on the bathroom floor I was told that they only had king rooms. As a result my husband, 15 year old daughter, and I had to share one bed in a king room instead of the double room I booked.
This is a great place to stay while spending time in Asheville. It's location is within walking distance of many shops, bars, and restaurants, the design and decor are fresh, the rooms are a good size, and the staff is genuinely friendly and attentive. Also, the rooftop is a great place for coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening as the sun sets. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Asheville.
Lovely rooms
Friendly staff that made you feel welcome!
Conveniently located to great shops and restaurants.
Definitely would come back!
My husband and I spent one night at the Flat Iron Hotel in Asheville. It was a wonderful experience! The hotel has been beautifully renovated from its prior purpose as business offices, while retaining many historical features. Our room was lovely with a very nice circular chair and bench at the foot of the bed. A very comfortable bed and very tasteful linens, fabrics and decor. Very nice bathroom shower, fixtures and surfaces. We enjoyed sunset and gorgeous mountain views at their rooftop location, where we also had a very nice breakfast. The staff is friendly and very accommodating, including providing welcome drinks and a postcard stamp to put on their own postcard showing the building in the 1930's. We will return!!!
I was greeted by Angela and she was warm and welcoming with a Prosecco. I got in much later than I had anticipated. Loved my room. And the shower was the best!
