The room was nice and clean, overall a good stay. Some minor details that could make the property superb… there was a LOT of bleed through noise from the other rooms. Other guests kept arriving late and the blinds weren’t effective at keeping the lights from disrupting our sleep. The bed was very much on the low side, which could be difficult for some people to get in or out of. My husband has rheumatoid arthritis and did struggle a bit getting in and out. Additionally, the bathroom door is oddly small…again my husband blasted his elbows at least three times going in and out (and he’s just an average sized man). Finally, parking is a bit inadequate, and a bit cramped.

All in all, an above average stay in a clean well maintained environment. But just because the competition is a 4, it doesn’t make Explorer a 9.

Customer service was amazing.

Stayed in the family cabin for 8. Beds were very comfortable, slept great. 2 full bathroom were perfect for 2 families. Price was just right. Room js basic but good for a night or 2 when you’re at the park all day. The chairs show some wear and probably need to be replaced bc of staining on the light color upholstery. There was a hair clump in the shower when we arrived that was obviously not ours, but wasn’t a huge deal for us, we didn’t use the shower bc we were there for 10 hr total. Walls are thin and the train runs all night. Wasn’t a problem for us, we use white noise app on our phones to sleep normally. Room 50 is its own building so you only hear ur family through the thin walls. We will definitely be back since the value for the good night sleep in a comfy bed are worth it.

The stay was just okay. I wanted to like it more but there were some issues. The sink was slanting off the wall in a way that made everything fall off. The shower leaked badly. I’m pretty sure there is lingering water damage hiding under the floor because the room smelled mildew-ish. There is unfinished wood everywhere that is cute but also dirty looking. We ended up leaving early. Also room had spiderwebs hanging and dead bugs hanging above the door.

Room was clean, air conditioning worked well, streaming on the TV, cute updates and comfortable beds. Our door lock was busted Parking was a free for all and angled which made it harder for several of our neighbors. Parking spots could be bigger keeping in mind family vehicles by the family rooms and maybe numbered??

This place is such a gem! Family friendly way beyond what most hotels locally offer! Clean site, comfortable bedding and seating, courteous staff, outstanding place! I will definitely be back! So grateful I found this place as staying near Cedar Point sometimes produces limited options for a family over 5. 10/10

Online check-in was really nice. No interaction needed. The room was really clean and modern. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Very close to Cedar Point!

Very clean, staff was extremely nice and helpful. Nice fire pit and chairs behind the building were nice to enjoy a bonfire at night. Corn hole boards and community charcoal grill and picnic tables behind the building for guest to also use.

I loved the simple but clean room, they are pet friendly
Nice grounds basically a simple comfortable place to spend the night.

Only real complaint was the sink was rather small.

We’ve stayed here prior to the renovation, and it was a very rundown, nasty property. It’s definitely updated but in the most minimal, cheap way possible. I’d guess they’re not that experienced. The shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc., were in big bottles that could easily be opened and contaminated by previous guests. It should at least be locked like the Hilton does so you can be confident it wasn’t tampered with. The bedding had a lot of hair and debris. I don’t appreciate the decorative pillows that were really dirty. Either get rid of them or keep them on the seat and not the bed. Everyone knows they cannot be cleaned and are frankly unsanitary. I don’t want something unwashed where I lay my head to sleep. There is a lot of hair and dander on the sides of the bed frame. We also found trash from the previous guest behind the nightstand. The clock in the room didn’t work because it didn’t have batteries. There was only one trash can in the bathroom, none in the room area. The bathroom sink is slanted; we originally thought it was falling off the wall. The shelves and light fixture was crooked. It was cheaper but still not cheap enough for the condition and how dirty it was. We wouldn’t stay here again. The only pro was being able to check in and out on your phone and skip the front desk.

Found this place while looking for a last min stay. The thing i liked the most is how home like and comfy. The pictures looked exactly how the place looked when we got there.

Super close to downtown Sandusky and Cedar Point. Was a great place to rest after a long day at CP.

AMAZING hands down the best place for the price beautifully crafted

First time staying at the property for a one night stay. Easy access and communication. As well as my daughter forgot her tablet and they were so kind and mailed it to us.
