Very cozy for a weekend gateway
No Tv , no phone . No seating area in room except desk with one seat . Very small . Little hanging facility for clothing and no drawers .
No taxis available in area . Nothing to do but hiking . No lunch available . Breakfast had no options and no hot food ..
Great place
Very nice place to stay. Staff very friendly and welcoming .
Lovely breakfast baskets available (additional charge).
Only improvement would be cleaning of room . We got a message while out asking if we would like the room cleaned that day with a circa 3 hour window that cleaners were available . We asked for it to be and unfortunately it wasn’t when we returned. Put it down to message system delays but think better system needed than this. Definately worth visiting though .
A beautifully located and thoughtfully designed property with a warm and welcoming atmosphere - especially from Brendan and Gillian, who were both loads of fun and full of insights into the local area. Highly recommended!
Very quiet
We had a great time at Eastwind - The hotel is very new and well kept with an amazing design sense. It feels private, small and cozy. The food at the restaurant, while not cheap was delicious and very impressive for feeling so remote. Cocktails were great. The bar / restaurant has a magical feel. The staff is lovely - very accommodating and nice. The rooms feel really special - they are small, but are done super well. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We are raving about our trip and are happy (stayed for one night), but I do think its worth nothing a few callouts / things I wish I might have known
- The Lushna Suites shown on the website have a private forest view. There are 6 of these and at least 3 of them look inward onto the resort and onto the path to check in / restaurant... because it was cold this wasn't too bothersome but I was initially disappointed given the photo on the website.
- The bathroom in the Lushna Suite is a small non-airtight glass door. If you are sharing the suite, there is essentially no privacy
- The sauna takes a very long time to warm up. Probably long enough to wonder if it works. We did abandon this after 50 minutes of heating and it only reaching 115 degrees
- The steps down from the sleeping loft are steep. Someone else mentioned this in a review, but wanted to confirm. definitely a little nerve-racking for the middle of the night. The bathroom also doesn't have a lot of storage space / hooks etc. But you can make use of the cubbies in the stairs.
- the canvas shades are not blackout shades... and the lights on the grounds which make it feel super special are on all night long. So the sleeping nook did not get super dark.
great but isolated
The room was not cleaned properly, found chunks of hair on the floor upon walking in. TERRIBLE, considering they are charging an arm and a leg for a remote property such as. We also checked in very late and did not have time to enjoy the property itself. Contacted the management about our dissatisfaction but no resolution was offered. Would love to visit this property again but staff and service is unfortunately questionable at this point…
Great location from NY. Lovely staff. Cute setting.
This place was just a one day layover for me. When I got here I regretted that I didn’t have more time to spend. This place is beautiful and peaceful and the accommodation are prime. I especially recommend the Bar and restaurant Daphodile and the amazing bartender and waitress Natasha.
Location
Reception not able to give any information that we need. They were so disengaged
Absolutely wonderful property! Alison warmly welcomed us and guided us throughout. Scandinavian design with Mid Century Vintage furnishings. This room features a private entrance, vintage desk and large window nook. We enjoyed the views of the beautiful grounds while seated on your private lounge chairs outside of our room. The onsite Dandelion restaurant had amazing vibe and equally amazing food and drinks. Breakfast was a lovely basket that we enjoyed in our patio. Large, clean bathrooms. Close to hiking trails. Wish we could have stayed longer!
This property is a very nice and modern take on the Catskills. Very nice for a cozy getaway, while the hotel does not have a ton of amenities they are open to you 24/7 which was a nice bonus.
