Pros:

Beautiful hotel and room. Very comfortable and felt like a special treat. Staff all very friendly. Definitely would stay again.

Pros:

Decoration and the architecture. The rooms are on the small side.

Cons:

The staff is not quite settled. The concierge was ignorant. Over all they seemed to be helpful but they really were not. I have stayed at hotels of this quality and i am used to service being impeccable which was not the case here.

Not Worth It At All
Pros:

Unfortunately, first impressions weren’t great: there was no staff at the front door to even help open doors, let alone help with bags. There was no one at the check-in counter, but a bunch of people and bags crowding the front reception area. They were so slow to attend to people.

Not at all a 5-star experience. Super irritating to spend nearly $2000/night for such poor service. The only reason a person pays that kind of money is because you can go anywhere for a room; you’re expecting the service to be over the top awesome.

They also advertise services like offering spa services (facials mostly), and after I checked in and inquired about that because I saw it on their Amenities Offered sheet in the room, I got a call back from a rude employee telling me they don’t offer these services anymore (like it was my fault for even inquiring).

Pros:

Great staff, they try very hard. Rooms are very well decorated.

Cons:

One of the two lifts was broken shortly after I arrived and not fixed by the time I was leaving 3 days on, causing very long wait up n down.
I order room service bagel on Sunday, it was delivered 30 mins late.

Pros:

Love the hotel especially the design and decor. Staff is so nice and professional. Room service food is excellent. The only negative is the lack of an in-house gym. Would stay again.

Un bon emplacement central dans Manhattan, une deco étonnante et très réussi, on se sent hors du monde dans cet hôtel au style 19eme revisité. Personnel disponible et très à l écoute.

Fantastic hotel with everything done to a high level

Cons:

Zero noise from the streets, but the room doors let in a lot of noise and the staff were particularly noisy early in the morning.

The hotel was phenomenal! We were greeting so warmly on arrival and given great dining and neighborhood tips by Ben- who was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful and all aspects of the hotel and dining/ bar spaces were gorgeous and full of character. We enjoyed The Portrait Bar a couple of times and had such fun. We also had breakfast in the restaurant and a spectacular dinner at Cafe Carmellini. I wish I could remember our server’s name because she was top notch.
I will go back to The Fifth Avenue Hotel. It was a wonderful experience.
