Rooms were filled with stink bugs flies and cockroaches not enough towels or toiletries in the rooms no breakfast was available despite the fact it was stated that the room comes with breakfast no staff on site either
Great pet friendly property with very clean and well maintained rooms. The outside of the motel can use a little paint. Easy check-in!
They have no staff on duty, we decided to stop early instead of coming in later, it’s self check in and the door was broke, we were lucky to catch someone there and they knew the door was broke, it took a while to get in, then it was loud outside the rooms, it’s a decent deal for the price, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a family stay, I would recommend it if your looking for a budget stay
The room was clean. We had a little trouble with the key pad but the staff quickly resolved our problem.
No staff on-site, what breakfast. They have started remodeling but throwing on a little paint does not cover the damage.
Room door beat up. Room lock code not working had to call to get lock box key which was hatd to reach for elderly ppl and impossible to see numbers at night. Table that flips down broke on unlatching it. Maintenance guy was suppose to fix next day but nope not fixed plus he wanted to leave our door unlocked while we were gone. The ice machine was broken and when working they charge for it. Soda machine out of order too. No cups for coffee just a lot of disappointed gals.
My family and I planned a trip to ride the Blue Ridge Railway. We came across this motel and from the pictures it looked like a great and clean place the stay. I’m sorry to say we were disappointed and the actual motel looks nothing like the pictures. Its description says nice things but it isn’t true. The only thing nice I can say is that it was mostly quiet. I unfortunately was not able to get any type of refund and will not be staying again.
Family medical
For an outdoor adventure weekend, it was PERFECT!
The hotel was nice. The grab and go breakfast isn’t much and if you don’t get there really early, the workers staying there take most of it. They were quick to answer text messages as no one is actually on site. We will definitely stay there again.
Contactless check-in was easy, communication efficient throughout, property clean and very close to the activity we were heading to the following day.
This was by far the worst hotel experience we ever had! Where do I begin?
Here is a list of the problems we had:
Lock on door had dead battery. We actually found someone to replace it, but that was the last time we ever saw a staff person.
Shower was backing up with terrible odor. They said they fixed it but it still was slow draining. We avoided the shower and did the best with the sink.
Lack of clean towels - we were told they were in a cupboard in The laundry room but the laundry room was locked. There were no staff on the premises to ask about it.
They say there is “grab and go” breakfast??? We were there 3 days and never saw anything nor was there any person to ask.
Oh yes I forgot about the fact you had to pay 25 cents for ice but only got 3 cubes to come out.
We left on the 3rd day. We couldn’t take the poor service, room odor, or moldiness by the air conditioner. This is just a few things. My husband developed a cough after the first day, likely the mold by the air conditioner unit.
We wanted to have 4 days to explore the area and attend a friend’s wedding, but it was a stretch just making it 2 nights.
Awful experience and awful hotel.
No breakfast as advertised, nothing worked in the room. No Television, no hair dryer. No employees on the property at all. Stayed 3 days during our mission trip and NEVER found an employee of any kind. Never again
Long black hair on bathroom sink. Small puddle of water on floor i. Bathroom. I cleaned jp with TP, floor was dirty. Also cleaned two other areas on floor...both dirty, one black. Table top brown papertowel when cleaned. Inside top of microwave was not clean either. Plastic ware was in bad shape and only 3 pieces of eating utensils. We couldn't get a neighboring room.. because lock box didn't work and no one was available on site to assist with either the other room or a reclean. We did not stay.
5 Star. Amazing room and nice game room!
It was a self serving property. You had to get your own extra towels and other items. The area where the items were supposed to be was never stocked. We had to buy some extra towels from the dollar tree. The grab and go breakfast was very limited. It was granola bars and apples and oranges as the only options. Overall the place was very nice there were just a few things that may make me not want to stay here again.
The worst experience I have ever had, booked king room on bottom floor room 110, I stayed for two nights and had to fight the room flooding the whole time and all my sons things was soaked with water when we awakened our first night. I made the mistake of knocking the front off the ac unit while trying to turn it down on the Thermostat as it was freezing when we arrived and l was shocked at the nastiness that was on the inside of the unit and even windows had condensation on them from how cold the thermostat was. Which i believe was sign from the get go I should have left the hotel knowing there was mold every where but they don't offer refunds. We was moved to the second floor which was so much better. Oddly even the room smelled much better, and the beds that room was even neater made. And the vent in that room was clean when i checked them. we was about to just leave without a refund after my sons clothes finished washing and drying. Personally, this place took away from our vacation and relaxation time. A little maintenance and a seasoned cleaner would make a big difference for this place. i meet a couple as well in room 109 that stayed for only one night they said they had to use all theirs towels and half the towels from the guest closest to drive their floor the morning they was leaving after staying only one night. take some allergy medication is my best advice if your going to stay there.
Cute clean room, comfy bed, shower could be cleaner but we are happy
The room was nice but the breakfast was terrible
The Mallard Hotel was bad , I had a room booked for over a week on the first floor , when I arrived the room I booked was occupied , no one works their on site , everything is operated by someone in a another country by phone . I got another room . The TV had no remote , I called them back and they told me to go to another room and get the TV remote out of that room , could not get in the room with the code he gave me on the phone , so I went back to the room he gave me and took a shower , when I walk back to the bed , my feet were black on the bottom from the dirty floor . I used a wash cloth to wash the bottom of my feet , before I got in the bed which was like a bag of rags , I could write a book on the Mallard Hotel which would be a horrow story , This stay was like a bad dream .
