Cedar house review
Spacious and nice layout craftsman ship good.
Cedar smell very strong upon arrival, diminished after time .
Kitchen was nice but did not have necessary items to prepare a meal.
Iron provided but no ironing board.
No soap or shampoo in bathroom
Queen size bed in a very large room was very uncomfortable. Mattress thin and no support.
Poor parking, suggest the one parking space up top be marked as handicap/ senior parking
Back patio not usable due to extreme heat with
No umbrella or awning .
Outdoor view was not good because of unkept neighbors.
Separate apartment that is private. Clean spacious quite. Would recommend and stay again
The woodwork is amazing. I say that as someone who does woodwork. The cedar smell is amazing. It’s very spacious. The interior is actually quite nice. The problem is A.. There is little or no communication about how to get there and B: all the furniture is just terrible. Honestly, the mattress is just a thin mattress, the couch is worse than one I would expect in a dorm, there’s a limited seating area in the living room, there was no soap in the shower with no creamer in the shower no shampoo in the shower. The bathtub was amazing. It’s like they really want this to be a nice place, but they ran out of funding and went cheap on the furniture. They’re very honest about the noise level just be warned. I spent half the night, listening to the people below us argue and then throw up violently When the alcohol set in. On the upside the the restaurant is amazing and the food is unbeatable.
We never saw another person at this Inn, not a guest, nor a proprietor. We were the only people there, which was a little weird. Because it was during in the eclipse and an hour from totality. All communication was email and text. Oh, one phone call.
I don’t know what it’s like at the height of the summer/boating season. But I’d like to return in the fall.
It’s in a neighborhood with normal houses, but you can sit on the deck and enjoy river view from hot tub. It’s very spacious. A complete apartment. We were upstairs in Room 2. See top right of photo.
I did not like the stupid motion detector coming on when I wanted to sit on deck at night. It’s completely unnecessary and annoying.
The frig was just stocked with breakfast and lunch items when we arrived. We couldn’t even eat all of it. What a nice surprise.
There’s a good pizza/bar/local dive a few blocks away.
Another complaint is that there should be a double bed instead of a single in the second bedroom.
But overall, I recommend this quaint Inn and I’d stay again and ask for the same room. I enjoyed the upper deck and privacy.
