Appreciate the value after arriving at a so called best hotel in Townsville
Pros:

Outstanding breakfast.
Excellent dinners

Cons:

On one occasion the breakfast orders were a bit slow but the staff apologised and I recognise that the meals were being prepared to order and they were busy.

5 star is not good enough for this place. Heaven on earth
Pros:

The staff were all amazing. The food was unbelievable The service was fast and friendly. I've stayed in many different places in Australia this is by far the nicest place by far. Can not even compare it to anywhere else I've stayed in Australia. I don't even know how to explain it.

Cons:

There was nothing I could fault. Everything was perfect.

A lovely getaway from the kids!!!!
Pros:

Lovely pool, Rooms very well presented and products in bathrooms, Staff very polite.

Cons:

Alcoholic drinks weren't very nice. Insufficient spa facilities could not cater for couples treatments.

Beautiful and relaxing
Pros:

We stayed at The Elandra for 5 nights and had a lovely time. The staff were fantastic, friendly and attentive. The resort itself is beautiful with a lovely pool area and view of the ocean. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean and private, with a beautiful outlook to the rainforest and ocean below.

Cons:

Although the food was good, the menu lacked variety with only 6-7 of the same mains available every night (and quite expensive as well); this became a little repetitive.

We had 3 days of total relaxation and we will definitely be recommending this beautiful place to many!
Pros:

All the staff are absolutely amazing! Their service is at the highest level!
Compliments to the chefs! All our meals were fantastic. I had the pleasure of having the 250gm eye filet and I can honestly say it was the best I’ve ever had!
Our room was just beautiful and massage was amazing!

Beautiful views and great room, excellent staff.
Pros:

Breakfast was great, staff in the restuarant were excellent, location and views were exceptional.

Cons:

When we arrived it was torrential rain and flooding in the area. There was no assistance to get to our room with our luggage. We did get an umbrella and it was a very steep hill to get to the room and walking through deep puddles and water on the paths. It would have been good to have assistance to our room with a buggy with luggage cover available.

We didn't feel like valued guests at the Elandra
Pros:

We have been big fans of the Elandra since it opened on 1 December 2023. The location is exceptional. In the past we have found it a wonderful place to relax. In the past we have found the service to be very good.

Cons:

During the last year there has been a changeover of serving staff in the restaurant. Most of the staff who would welcome us by name on a regular basis are gone. The Elandra had felt like a second home to us. During this stay we had difficulties with servers who did not seem to know what their job was. For example, the server poured wine into my husbands glass without asking me if I wanted to taste it first. After I tasted it she went to pour wine into my glass but instead poured it over the tablecloth. We had to ask for extra serviettes when my husband ordered the chicken wings. One server didn't remove cutlery and give me a steak knife. I asked it they had bug spray one night as we were getting bitten. The server said she didn't think so but would have a look. As regulars at the Elandra we knew that they do supply bug spray. I had to ask for a tropical juice and milk that I had ordered. One server told me that there was no desert on the menu that I was requesting. I asked for the menu and pointed out the item that I had ordered. The server then replied that she was not familiar with the dessert menu. On our last night as we returned to our room, we could hear music and people from the bar area. It felt as if the Elandra was turned into a night club. The noise was still going on at 10:30pm. We have never had a noise problem before. When we checked out we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay. This was our 6th stay at the Elandra and we often go there for lunch. On 29 December 2025 I forwarded a complaint with respect to our stay. It was a standard response thanking me for the feedback. They were sorry to hear that we didn't fully enjoy our experience, and this had been passed onto the managers. They concluded that they hoped that they would have the opportunity to welcome us back. I was very disappointed in this impersonal response to our experience given how often we have supported the Elandra since its opening.
