Luxurious
Pros:

The design and layout of the hotel was beautiful. Bed was comfy, and room was clean

Pros:

We were picked up at the ferry terminus upon our arrival.
We were driven to a winery for lunch then picked up afterwards and taken back to the ferry.

Cons:

Unfortunately there was no breakfast served

Disappointing
Pros:

The booths downstairs we loved
Where we sat together playing cards

Cons:

The windows were filthy
Room 206 was cold
Unfortunately fire alarm woke all of us up we were all fast asleep
We did not feel confident to stay after evacuation
Then told there was no refund for the rest of our booking for 2 more nights 😔disappointing

Wonderful location and fabulous staff.
Pros:

The hotel is in a superb location overlooking the harbour but the best feature is the staff who could not have been more friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and even extended to a free shuttle bus ride to a winery restaurant and back again to the ferry despite the fact that we had already checked out.

Cons:

The reviews of the restaurant were not good so we ate at other restaurants nearby. They are in the process of dealing with this issue.

Have stayed in many places around the world and the reason The Grand stay stood out was the staff.
Pros:

Close to the beach .
Service was excellent .
Had a drop off and pick up bus service

Cons:

Paid the same price for different size rooms .
One room was larger than the other best rooms in the hotel . Our friends room was a lot smaller and we felt should have been cheaper

With the bistro inside the hotel and the cafe, bakery and other shops all near by and the beach so close it's a great spot.

Just a touch of class
Pros:

You definitely get a feel of the “Grand” nature of this historic building, with the eye to detail of the furnishings and old charm. Modern updates have been well balanced in keeping with the hotels character. Spent the weekend of the Mussel festival enjoying the food and atmosphere. Live band in the evening was a pleasant surprise in the open bar. A special mention to Miki who made us feel very welcome and was extremely helpful, and not to forget the other amazing staff in the bistro, bar and room service. Will be back again.
