Everything - rooms, cleanliness, location, facilities
Great breakfast, lovely staff, nice rooms! Walking distance to heaps of attractions and great restaurants!!
Didn't love the internal view room we had. I booked a hotel in Melbourne to see the city but that didn't happen unfortunately. Lesson learned to ask next time!! :)
Also, I think the rooms are in need of a good deep clean. But overall it was still very nice and clean.
Also the bathroom light illuminates the entire room at night haha!
The location and staff always lovely to deal with
Location is always prime.
We always stay at dorsett, always enjoy our stay.
Breakfast was good, good variety, clean.
We had booked valet parking. We arrived and it was impossible to get a space out the front of the hotel.
I went in and my partner circled in the car while I tried to make the arrangements.
There was a huge cue at the check in, i had registered for the online check in, I used that and turns out it wasnt working. I joined the cue for check in. Would have been 30+ mins
Booking was for 2 adults and 1 child. When we got our room we just had a double bed. I tried calling guest services but it rang out twice. I went down stairs to discuss. Their initail argument was that because I upgraded our room we only got a double bed despite the booking being for a 2 adults and a child. Eventually they provided us with a single bed "at no charge" ... it took some convincing and a manager for this to evolve.
There was an odour coming from the shower, drains need cleaning. Stain on the carpet and hair on the quilt.
We had room service for dinner one night. I had the pulled pork toasted sandwich, bread was burnt.
I believe the hotel was under staffed.

Absolutely everything was excellent
Nothing not to love. This was my second stay and absolutely will not be my last ♡
The room was excellent - clean and quite spacious. The bathroom and shower are also amazing
The pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were fantastic
We loved the proximity to public transport options and southern cross station and shopping.
Would have loved to have stayed longer
The Dorsett is in a great location, a very short walk to Southern Cross Station, and an easy walk to the city centre. The hotel room (we just got the twin room) was beautiful and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was great and very clean. Also I loved the styling of the room and bathroom. It was very luxurious and classy.
Buffet breakfast was small in choice but adequate. Lune Croissant shop is nearby if that is your thing for breakfast.
Rooms were very quiet. Valet parking is the only parking that comes with the hotel at $70 a night, but you can take your car as many times as you like for the flat rate. There is a coffee/bar in the lobby as well as a restaurant on level 2. Pool looked nice and clean and was lit with blue lights which looked very cool. Eating places within a short walk as is tram and train station. Great value and highly recommend staying here.
Personally I would rather park my own car, but the car was well looked after by the hotel. Also there is limited parking on the street when pulling in at the hotel as there is no dedicated driveway.
