Pros:

Good location , friendly staff and usually nice facilities

Cons:

The pool and sauna areas were dirty and not stocked of towel or conditioner .. body moisturiser in the shower is strange.
No water in our room , beds very firm and very dirty glass.
Not to its usual standard.

Lovely room and greeting but disappointing with the room service.
Pros:

The staff member Josh at check in was very lovely. Free room upgrade on arrival and put balloon, chocolate and card in the room for my sisters birthday.

Cons:

I phoned down to guest services to order room service around 5:15pm and spoke with a male. He said he would place the order at the bar. 5 minutes later he called to confirm what I ordered and said it wouldn’t be long. At 6:30pm, we still had not got our food so I phoned down. The woman on the phone said she would check with the bar. She called back and said no order was placed and that I didn’t place an order. She asked if I used the OR code I said no I phoned because the QR code was not working for me. We ordered early because we had other plans later. The woman on the phone was quite rude and not accomodating and said the bar was too busy so they wouldn’t be able to get us our food in time. She said sorry thank you and then she ended the phone call. The time we spent waiting in our room we could have gone and got something else. It was quite disappoint seeing as the hotel itself was so nice.

Great place to stay
Pros:

The location is great, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is well presented and clean. The bathroom supplies (bodywash and handwash) smell lovely.

Cons:

The beds were too firm for my liking.
I didn't like that coffees were an extra cost and not included in the price of the buffet breakfast.

Outstanding
Pros:

I've never stayed at the Dorsett. The room, service and facilities were exceptional and even above 5 star hotels I usually stay at. Brilliant rooms, the space and lighting are wonderful. My room even had a balcony that was a welcome and unexpected addition. Bravo Dorsett. You are now my hotel of choice for Melbourne.
