⭐ 1/5 – Deeply Disappointing Stay at Hotel Pilgrim, Paris (3 Oct)

I booked Hotel Pilgrim in Paris through Stayforlong.com, paying for what was clearly advertised as a Superior Twin Room (£385.17) for two female friends. On arrival, we were allocated a Classic Double, which was entirely unsuitable for our needs.

When I raised this with Clara, the hotel manager, I was told the hotel was fully booked, the room was too small for twin beds or a cot, and that no refund could be offered. Her only “solution” was to bring in extra bedding and sleep on the floor— the bedding arrived in poor condition.

As a cancer patient in recovery, this situation caused considerable stress and exhaustion. Despite it being the hotel’s error, there was no compensation, no breakfast offered, and no proper service. The room was so cramped that my suitcase posed a safety hazard, and the management showed no accountability or empathy.

To make matters worse, room rates fluctuate dramatically online, which is misleading. I would score them zero if it were possible.

Avoid this hotel at all costs — poor management, false advertising, and no respect for guests’ well-being.

Very much enjoyed the Pilgrim. It was clean and modern and the room size was good in comparison to similar priced hotels in Paris. I would stay there again.

High praise for this small hotel in the Latin quarter of Paris. The room was clean and modern. The breakfast area and adjoining outdoor courtyard were delightful as was the breakfast menu. The staff made us feel welcomed and gave us some excellent tips of which restaurants to visit in the area.

Close to all the restaurants and action on Saint Germain Blvd. Walking distance to Notre Dame and Saint Chappelle. Clean hotel, good breakfast but rooms a bit small, as is usual for hotels in Paris.

The staff were all very helpful, the room albeit small was very clean and fine for what we needed.
The spa was a welcome bonus for us after long days of walking around Paris.
The rooftop bar was also a bonus to have a drink before we went out in the evenings.
Would definitely recommend this hotel

The staff is one of the best that we experienced on our trip around Europe. Friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy that you are there. Would always return to this hotel. Great views from the rooftop.

Staff was super helpful and friendly.
Places to visit and sightsee were in abundance and restaurants many good restaurants within walking distance.
The room was small, but clean.
Bed was very comfortable.

Ich hatte einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt im Hôtel Pilgrim. Die Unterkunft war ausgesprochen sauber. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die hervorragende Anbindung an den öffentlichen Verkehr: Sowohl vom Flughafen als auch nach Versailles gelangt man schnell und unkompliziert. Sehenswürdigkeiten wie Notre-Dame oder das Panthéon sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar, und mehrere Bushaltestellen befinden sich ebenfalls in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Die Duschprodukte dufteten außergewöhnlich angenehm, und die im Zimmer verfügbaren Teesorten waren sehr lecker.

Wenn ich etwas kritisieren müsste, dann wäre es die Größe der Dusche und des WCs. Beide fielen wirklich sehr kompakt aus. Jedoch kein großes Problem.

Insgesamt eine empfehlenswerte Unterkunft für alle, die zentral und komfortabel in Paris wohnen möchten.

Excellent hotel with gracious, friendly and helpful staff. Quaint outside areas and rooftop seating.

The rooms are significantly smaller than in the pictures. Ours was uncomfortably small. I suggest you publish the size of the rooms on the website and show realistic looking pictures, so travellers can make an informed decision as to whether the room will meet their needs. Apart from this the hotel was lovely and the staff were friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at this quaint hotel in the Latin District of Paris. The staff were incredibly accommodating and even went out of their way to prepare breakfast for us before the regular serving time. They also had a beautiful rooftop patio perfect for taking in the views of the Eiffel Tower and enjoying a glass of wine, and the pool/steam room was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend for a charming and relaxing Parisian experience. The staff was excellent but Sara was especially accommodating and kind. Thanks for a great stay.

Stayed herr for five days. New hotel. Great location. Nice spa facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooftop not staffed just a place for you to bring your drinks( i think description lets you imagine something Else). No real barfacilities, just the people at the desktop mixing your drinks. Breakfast should be better(this is a 4 star hotel): bread not fresh(stale), hot choices are: scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fried potatoes and mushrooms. Scrambled eggs are not very well made and not “restocked” very often. Boiled eggs cold.
Water often runs slow and can Only be extremely hot(approx 60C) making it impossible to shower. After 5-10 minutes it was ok.

Great property in the Latin district. Well appointed rooms with great amenities. Pool, spa, and steam room were absolutely wonderful and welcomed after a long day of walking.

Just a 6 minute walk to NotreDame this is a very quiet residential neighborhood. It is authentically old Paris with beautiful medieval college des Bernadines across the street.

Stylish, quiet, rooftop bar with a view of the Eiffel Tower (just about!). Reasonably well connected.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Hotel Pilgrim. The attentive and kind staff, comfortable accommodations, and convenient location this a wonderful home base for our short stay. We were just blocks from the metro and walking distance from Notre Dame, able to access everything we needed!
