The room smelled of damp. I assume the drains. We had to leave the windows and doors open when we went to dinner. It was better but not completely gone when we returned.

Beautifully restored hotel in the main street of Eden. We saw the restorations being undertaken some years earlier so were keen to see how things turned out. Great for a short stay or romantic weekend. We stayed in the Imlay room which was large and had its own spacious bathroom. Drinks in the lounge area and dinner in the dining room were a great way to finish the day. The continental breakfast was also in the Dining Room. Great presentation overall complemented by very friendly and helpful staff.

Location and rooms are great. The hotel has been well restored and easily accessible. Staff are friendly and helpful though at times seemed a little stressed.
The breakfast doesn't match the overall quality of the hotel and rooms: you get a coffee, juice, a small packet of mediocre muesli, and some toast with condiments that would be more suited to a motel. We enjoyed our stay a lot but this was a bit surprising. The sitting and dining rooms are very overlit and would be more atmospheric if the bright neon lights were toned down.
Only comment is the fruit fly situation in dining room and the bar area....especially when your breakfast is left out for you beforehand. Our fruit salad was covered with fruit flies when we sat down.
