Grow at Goodwood

There were a few things (noise from the main road, insufficient communication, cleanliness under the beds with several items left behind by previous guests) that didn’t meet our expectations.

However, the worst part was the check-in experience which was extremely frustrating and something that on average takes 5 minutes, cost us a lot of valuable time. First, we had to register online and upload a photo of our ID on a form that was very poorly translated and gave a completely untrustworthy impression. After that, we were required to download an additional app, but the registration of our phone number kept failing.

What made the situation worse was that the rental company was not reachable when we needed help. They did not respond to emails, the contact form provided in the check-in link led nowhere, and the phone hotline was initially unreachable as well. Only thanks to other tenants who happened to be there were we eventually able to contact them and find a solution.

When we finally reached the hotline, the staff member was not particularly friendly. Instead, the tone felt somewhat condescending, as if we were people who simply did not understand technology. During the process, the person on the hotline also appeared to be watching us through a camera, which felt very uncomfortable. In the end, it took us all in all way more than an hour before we could finally access the apartment.

Because of the digital key system, you are forced to keep your phone charged and carry it with you at all times. For every door, gate or elevator, you have to take out your phone, open the app, click on a key, turn the phone and hold it close against a card reader. Apart from taking longer than opening a door with a batch or a physical key, it sets a very poor example for children when their parents are forced to us a mobil phone for this as well.

Door entry with phone was a hassle

It was often difficult for the JustIn app to connect to open the apartment doors.

Maybe it’s just older folk who find this but the security system is very frustrating to use. The property has no reception staff on the premises so you need to download an app and use your phone for all locks. This did not always work first time. If travelling with others, they need to have their phone number registered to gain access too. We could not get the TV to mirror our iPad, and there was no antenna reception so we could not use the TVs at all. The apartment is on a busy road so it was not possible to leave the windows open for fresh air most of the day as it was too noisy (our apartment was on the Goodwood Rd side). The kitchen was equipped with minimal cooking requirements (no grater, casserole dish etc). It would be helpful to have a luggage trolley available to help carry luggage up to the apartment (there is a lift which was handy). Finally, the water was only luke warm in the showers on the last morning.

Digital key card didn’t work on some occasions

There was no dishwasher and little advice that there was no room servicing. The electronic key app entry was good enough, but often had to be used a few times. Noisy corridors

Quel cauchemar?!!!Pourquoi on ne nous dit pas qu’il faut une carte SIM australien pour pourvoir accéder électroniquement à l’appartement? Heureusement il y avait Steve qui était formidable à nous donner un coup de main mais nous n’avons pas réussi le soir de notre arrivée d’accéder avec notre téléphone européen à l’hébergement! Donc méfie vous vraiment j’espère qu’il ferons le nécessaire!!!!
