Pros:

The hotel is located close to the railway museum but also outside the main, noisy center. It was nice to sit in front at the bench in the afternoon with the fresh breath from the lake nearby.

Cons:

The bathrooms are not up to standard. The stair to the upper bedroom is very steep. The AC in the bedroom was very noisy. The WIFI did not work properly. It either worked very slow or not at all. The breakfast was served on plastic plates! They say that this is a 3 star Hotel but it is more like 1 star or 2 star at best. The place is too expensive for what it offers.

Comfortable for a short stay with helpful staff and good breakfast.

Clean and comfortable property with helpful staff and a well laid out and tasty included breakfast with good variety. Lots of interesting outside areas and attractive frontage. Good wifi.

Excellent hotel!
Pros:

This is probably the best hotel in Ambarawa and well worth staying at. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms with a balcony have wonderful views of the lake and mountains. The western breakfast was so good we did not try the Indonesian option! It is fresh and different each day, served on a tray in your room. The room was exceptionally clean, and bed linen and towels changed daily.
The Indonesian Railway museum is in the town. It is excellent and well worth visiting. The museum is walkable from the hotel, but a taxi back is a good idea as it’s uphill. The heritage train trip at the weekend was delightful! The track runs alongside Rawa Pening lake, with magnificent views of traditional lakeside life. Borobudur temple is about 1.5 hours away. The hotel organised a car and driver to get us there, and to see other local attractions. There is a huge statue of Mary just above the hotel. Ambarawa is a surprisingly interesting place to visit, the only downside - we couldn’t find beer for sale anywhere!

Pros:

I recently stayed at Griya Katarina, and it was a fantastic experience! The hotel offers a nice view of the city, especially from the higher floors, making it a great spot to relax and take in the surroundings.

The breakfast was delicious, with a good variety of options to choose from. Everything was fresh and well-prepared, perfect for starting the day.

The hotel’s amenities were excellent, from the modern lift to the well-maintained parking spaces, everything was convenient and well organized.

Cons:

First, the bathroom was not deep cleaned, although it looked tidy at first glance, I noticed some areas that needed better attention, especially in the corners and around the fixtures. A more thorough cleaning would make a big difference.

Second, the air conditioning was not cooling properly. Even after adjusting the settings, the room remained warmer than expected, which made it a bit uncomfortable, especially at night.

I checked in the hotel in time and got very excellent service. All room facilities were ready.
Pros:

I like the location. It's one of the best places for staycation; moreover, it's close to St. Merry Site I love.
