A Charming Historic Hotel in a Quiet Area
Pros:

Superb room with balcony towards the garden with the pool, great location in a quiet area, with everything one needs around, amazing historical building, in a former small Palace (ask for the book at the reception) very nice staff (Ana, Paulo and the hotel manager were super helpful and nice)

Cons:

Unfortunately, the food quality did not quite meet expectations, both at breakfast and dinner. The staff are very warm and welcoming, which is greatly appreciated, but there is still some room for improvement to reach the level of refinement of a high-end, 5 star level of service (especially the bar and restaurant service).

Treat Yourself. This palace experience is really worth your dollars.
Pros:

When we arrived, a very helpful young man was at the gate to take us to the registration desk so we could check in. He directed my husband as to where to park, even going with him in the car instead of just leaving us with verbal directions. We were then given a tour of the property which is absolutely beautiful. Honestly that check in experience was the best we ever had. We were treated very respectfully our whole stay. Chocolates in the room, fresh water. Our room was stunning, large by Porto standards. The bedding and linens were very good quality. Even the shower was great. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and that dining room with the crystal chandeliers. The whole experience was one of the best we’ve had in any hotel we’ve been in.

Cons:

The ONLY thing-my bed (we had two twins pushed together)-the outer third of it sagged from repeatededly being sat on I suppose. It wasn’t enough to cause a poor sleep but it was a noticeable downside in an otherwise very upscale room.

Unexpected and Unprofessional Breakfast Experience
Cons:

I do not usually leave negative reviews. When I am disappointed, I generally prefer to move on quietly. However, after what we experienced at One Shot Palacio de Porto, I feel it is important to share our feedback.
We stayed four nights at the hotel.
Upon arrival, the reception staff was kind, professional, and welcoming. The day before the incident, we were given a small guide at the front desk clearly stating that breakfast was served until 10:30 am.
The next morning, we arrived at 10:15 am, well before the stated closing time, expecting to enjoy breakfast calmly — especially since we were on vacation.
The first thing the breakfast attendant said to us was:
“You have 10 minutes to eat.”
I was genuinely surprised. I asked how it was possible to have breakfast in 10 minutes in a hotel of this standing. The answer was simply that we had no other choice.
Extremely shocked by this attitude, I went downstairs to speak with the hotel manager. I explained the situation. The only response I received was “Sorry.”
No explanation, no solution, no gesture.
Because of this experience, I was so disappointed that I did not return to breakfast for the remaining three mornings of our stay.
I travel frequently and have never encountered this type of treatment in a hotel that claims a certain level of service.
Unfortunately, despite the good reception service, this experience completely overshadowed our stay.
I will not return and cannot recommend this hotel.

Pros:

I liked the breakfast, the sauna, the gym, the cleanliness, the location, the history of the building and the old type decoration with the characteristic local color. Also the personell was polite, pleasant and helpful, all the four persons I met.

Luxurious stay, felt really welcome!
Pros:

Great location, beautiful entree to the Reception. The bed was very comfortable and all the necessary for a comfortable stay is thought of, including a personal note and chocolates.

Cons:

Some things were broken which was a real pity for this 5 star hotel.
