Luxurious stay, felt really welcome!
Pros:

Great location, beautiful entree to the Reception. The bed was very comfortable and all the necessary for a comfortable stay is thought of, including a personal note and chocolates.

Cons:

Some things were broken which was a real pity for this 5 star hotel.

The hotel and room were very beautiful and nicely taken care of.

Cons:

Did not expect this from a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was not at all what was expected. We arrived at 9 and the food was almost none and they rarely substituted anything. The staff were rude, talking loudly near people and not letting them enjoy their breakfast alone. The facilities were not those of a five star hotel. Honestly, not worth the money. For the same price I could have stayed in a similar hotel and gotten a much better experience.

O horário do pequeno almoço fixado é das 7:00 às 11:00 mas o restaurante encerrou às 10:30.
Não nos serviram o pequeno almoço nem sugeriram outra alternativa uma vez que o valor estava incluído na estadia.

Schöner Wochenendetrip in die Sonne!
Pros:

Ein geschmackvolles Hotel in ruhiger zentraler Lage ca 15-20 Minuten an den Douro. Zimmer war groß und hatte einen schönen Balokn. Das Frühstück im alten Prunksaal sehrgut!
DAs Personal war ehr freundlich besonders im Service, die Rezeptionistinnnen eher noch unerfahren!

Cadre sympathique mais gâché par un personnel non qualifié et irrespectueux

Le groom qui nous a accompagné de chambre en chambre

Cons:

Nous avions réservé une grande suite pour 2 et arrivés dans l’établissement, on nous a donné la pire chambre de l’hôtel (qui au passage n’était pas bien entretenue) car « notre chambre a été donné à quelqu’un d’autre par erreur ». Après réclamation, on nous a fait croire qu’aucune autre chambre n’était disponible et la seule offre qu’on nous a faite est « le petit déjeuner gratuit ». Le soir même nous sommes revenus afin de faire une énième réclamation, et nous sommes enfin tomber sur quelqu’un de censé qui nous a proposé une meilleure chambre, même si ce n’était toujours pas la suite que nous avions réservé. Tout ça parce que nous sommes un jeune couple, votre personnel a pensé qu’il pouvait nous manquer de respect. Ce fut une expérience que nous ne recommencerons jamais et que nous ne recommanderons à personne de notre entourage. Les attitudes du personnel à qui nous avons eu affaire était pire que déplacé et irrespectueuse. La seule personne qui a été aimable avec nous était le groom, un brésilien adorable qui a pris notre défense face aux reste du personnel. De plus nous n’avons jamais pu profiter de la piscine car toujours occupé par des familles avec des enfants de 10h à 18h
