I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Shenzhen Futian Center for 4 days and 3 nights in a Standard Room. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would like to share my experience.
Pros:
1. The hotel is located in a quiet and serene neighbourhood, providing a relaxing environment away from the busy city centre.
2. Travelling to the CBD and other popular destinations was convenient, with DiDi readily available and reasonably priced.
3. I was impressed with the compact yet well-maintained room. The room was clean, comfortable, and efficiently designed.
4. The bathroom amenities were adequate, and sufficient bath towels and hand towels were provided throughout my stay.
5. The Queen-size bed was comfortable and came with four pillows, ensuring a good night's sleep.
6. The mini bar was well stocked, which was a pleasant surprise.
7. The breakfast selection was good and provided a satisfying start to each day.
Areas for Improvement:
1. The hotel should consider having more front desk staff who are able to communicate in English. This would greatly improve the experience for international guests and facilitate smoother communication.
2. There was some confusion regarding my reservation and payment status. I had assumed that the room had been fully paid through Booking.com, but this was not the case. It would be helpful if the hotel and Booking.com could work more closely together to ensure reservation and payment details are clearly communicated to guests.
3. Prior to arrival, I had requested a room located in the middle section of the corridor. However, I was assigned a connecting room and was not informed of this arrangement during check-in. Personally, I do not prefer connecting rooms, and I would have appreciated being consulted or informed beforehand.
Overall Experience:
Despite the above concerns, my stay at the Holiday Inn Express Shenzhen Futian Center was enjoyable. The clean and comfortable room, pleasant surroundings, good breakfast, and convenient access to the city contributed to a positive experience. With some improvements in guest communication and front desk language support, the overall guest experience could be enhanced further.

I found it nice and central and clear communication. I had a pleasant stay with a nice view.
The only point to make is the windows may need to be cleaned on the outside of the room view.
The breakfast was reasonable in quality and the price was fair, but other than that I would not stay here again. The top floor bar and pool area is lovely but there isnt enough outside seating to accomodate the number of guests staying. There are 2 stools and one table and 2 chairs, we never were able to sit outside.
This really isnt in Futian centre, its not near anything at all and taxis are required to get anywhere. There are no convenience stores nearby so ordering delivery is the only way to get food and items delivered. The location and name is misleading, its not in Futian.
The staff are not helpful at all, and even with translator apps we felt there was a reluctance to really assist us with anything at all, it felt quite isolating. Nothing in the hotel is translated into both english and chinese which is pretty standard for most Chinese hotels, and the staff do not speak any basic English at all.
The breakfast was 'ok' but it was nothing remarkable, overall we would not stay here again as the location is misleading and its not equipped to handle international travellers with ease. The beds were also extremely uncomfortable and the pillows felt like clay to lay on, we did not sleep well at all during our stay here.
