Thyesza Hotel Resort

Accueil, gentillesse, bienveillance. On s’y sent vraiment bien. Très jolie chambre, très bonne restauration. J’y retournerai avec grand plaisir.

Thyesza is een prachtig middenklasse hotel waar je heerlijk kunt eten, met nette kamers en een adembenemend uitzicht. Maar wat deze plek écht bijzonder maakt, is de warme gastvrijheid van de familie die het hotel runt.

De eigenaresse is een vriendelijke vrouw die met liefde vertelt over de Batak-cultuur. Haar zoon Isac regelt alles wat je nodig hebt – zo ontvingen wij vooraf al handige informatie over de ferry en het transport naar het hotel. Zoon Rohood reed ons overal naartoe en wist onze dagtrip extra speciaal te maken door ons mee te nemen naar een idyllisch uitzichtpunt.

Nichtje Lia was onze gids en maakte onze ervaring onvergetelijk. Met haar fanatieke, maar altijd vriendelijke manier van afdingen op de markt wist ze de prijzen moeiteloos met 50% te verlagen – alleen al om haar bezig te zien was een feestje. Bovendien gaf ze ons op onze laatste avond een kookles: een absolute traktatie!

Ook de dochters Minda en Thyesza, die niet officieel in het hotel werken, waren net zo gastvrij en behulpzaam. Minda en Lia namen ons mee op een pittige, maar prachtige wandeling naar Pea Farmhouse in de buurt van het hotel – absoluut een aanrader.

Kortom: Thyesza biedt niet alleen comfort en kwaliteit, maar vooral een unieke, persoonlijke ervaring die je verblijf onvergetelijk maakt.

Le personnel est très gentil, et la chambre est super!
Nous avons passé un bon séjour, mais cet hôtel est plus pour les locaux que pour les touristes.
Nous n'avons donc pas osé nous baignez.
Le petit dejeuner est très bon, avec un très grand buffet a volonté quand il y a du monde.

It’s a worst hotel I ever visited

Had a very good time here, is a bit outside the city and less busy.
Rooms were cheap, food was good, also inexpensive.
I rented a motor-bike from them for low-speed island scouting, also cheap.
Isac helped us a lot & in depth with travel arrangements, Everybody else was also very kind, as is the whole island.
Generally, the worst thing that can happen in Sumatra, is that people will be upset with themselves after a language misunderstanding. How anyone would be angry with people so genuinely nice all the time, I don't know ;-)

Rubbish strewn around the place, unsafe steps to lake, very loud music from adjacent premises. No water in swimming pool.

Checked out after 30 minutes.

Explained to host what the issues were but he did not seem to understand.

Refused a refund of any amount.

We arrived very late at night but the guy waiting up for us was real helpful and got us settled in. A nice pool by the lake and breakfast in the deal. Room was comfortable, clean and basic.

The resort is next to the lake. There is a swimming pool and karaoke place. The food is great and the staff are helpful. We had our meal with the lakeview. The hotel is nearby the boat jetty and the boat ride was so beautiful. They put me in a room with the lake view. Love it.

It's location and hotel is also good

- the food in the restaurant was great
- the old lady (the owner) was really kind
- there was a big group over the weekend which was pretty noisy, but the owner informed us beforehand
- breakfast was also nice, because it changed every day
- the restaurant has a nice view of the lake

Helpful and friendly staff, clean restaurant and scenic location. Would be great for a relaxing holiday by the lake as the complex contains all you really need and good wifi. Airport taxi can be arranged by the hotel if needed. Toiletries are also provided. The food is also very tasty.
