Pros:

Our stay at the GRAND HOTEL du LAC Hanoi was remakable - we stayed there for our family vacation in Hanoi and traveled from there to other destinations in Vietnam.
Our rooms were always ready for us, our luggage was stored between our travels and we got help with anything we needed.
Camellia did above and beyond to make sure we had a great vacation.

We got 2 connected rooms as we asked and it was basically one big suite that suited perfectly our needs.
Breakfast was great.
Location was near the lake and not far from the weekend market.

Quick summary, Fantastic clean hotel, with amazing staff who work to make your stay special. Vegetarian and gluten free breakfast options. Great spa and rooftop bar and pool. Close to attractions. A perfect sanctuary from the busy streets of Hanoi. We were made to feel welcome and like we had a second home.

This was a fantastic hotel. So good wevstayed twice in our trip. Perfect location to see old town and french quarter sites, shopping and eating. The staff were very, kind, professional and attentive. They were happy to help advise and arrange tickets and drivers. They even found me a reliable place to have my backpack fixed after the strap broke. The stand out members were Lilly and Mr Jack. But, every staff member was a credit to the hotel.
They also had great vegetarian breakfast options. Also, they took my wife's celiac seriously but without any fuss ensuring she started the day with good gluten free breakfast options.
The hotel also has a nice bar and small lessure pool on the roof we didn't end up using. However, we can recommend the message service. The masseuses were clearly highly experienced. And like the rest of the hotel the spa was well maintained and clean.

Cons:

We genuinely didn't have any negative about this stay. It was perfect.

Perfect stay in Hanoi
Pros:

The hotel has very comfortable beds and excellent breakfast. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. They offered excellent restaurant recommendations and even upgraded my room free of charge. Special thanks to Erin and Hong Quan for making my stay so enjoyable.
