Hotel is a bridge away from the city centre, which I have chosen, because I like it more quiet. Very nice hotel and thanks to Ms. Thuy for being so helpful !
Lovely reception staff.
Clean and comfortable rooms.
We didn’t really enjoy the breakfast section .
The coffee was cold
and there were little fruit flies around the food that wasn’t covered.
It was on a main road and you can’t walk into main Old Quarter across the bridge .
( there were no walk ways for pedestrians to cross the bridge )
We had a use a Grab/taxi every time went out.
Clean, spacious room. Good location within reasonable travelling distance from the airport and old town centre. Staff were helpful given their limited English and our inability to speak Vietnamese!
Breakfast was not the best…quite limited in choice.
Good hotel. Stayed here for 1 nights since close to my company. But surprisingly close to Old Quarter as well. Only take 5mins. Also has breakfast options for business traveler like me.
The lady receptionist during the daytime Thuy and male receptionist at night Duc; were both really cooperative and helpful whenever we needed some assistance or information.
Thuy even helped us rent the scooter with short notice and avoided the hassle of either leaving our passport or deposit.
Duc was always there to greet us at night when we came from our scooter night stroll.
The room cleaning lady ensured that our beds were always cleaned upon our return.
Breakfast looked good even though we never got a chance to eat it due to our late night routine and other schedules.
Overall the experience was excellent, zero complains :)
Preferred payment method was cash (as in most of the places in Vietnam we realised) however card payment can be made if requested.
Waiting too long for their Red Invoice and until now still haven't sent to my email.
No respond on my request for Red Invoice
Clean hotel that is a short grab ride from the old quarter. There is also a pharmacy and supermarket just opposite
The best reception, thank you Thuy for your outstanding service !
THEY STOLE MY THINGS FROM MY ROOM
THIEFS !!!!!! THEY STOLE ME !!!
The room was so clean and spacious. The facilities actually looked pretty new. Asian hotel rooms can be quite small, and I was surprised by how big the room was!
Short story: The person working at the front desk was one of the worst customer service people I have EVER met (and I travel a lot).
Longer story / more details: I had a tour at 5 pm, and when I checked into the hotel (at 3 pm), I showed her the location and asked when I should leave the hotel. She said it was a 5-to-10 minute drive, so I could come to the lobby at 4:45 pm and she would call me a taxi. I showed up at 4:30 pm just in case. She said she called a taxi... then I checked in 10 minutes later, and she forgot to call it. She called a taxi, and told me to walk across the street to pick it up. The taxi driver canceled, and she didn't call or text me, so I waited for another 15 minutes. I then went back to the hotel, and asked her to call another taxi. She claimed to call multiple taxi companies, and told me that "every taxi in Hanoi is booked." She said there was nothing she could do. At this point, I was ONE HOUR late for my scheduled tour. I texted the tour guide, who told me to download an app called Grab (the equivalent of Uber/ Lyft in Vietnam). I called myself a car and it came in 5 minutes.
I ended up being 1.5 hours late for a tour, after calling my own taxi using an app. The front desk person claimed she "could do nothing" and was actively unhelpful. If hotel staff would like to contact me, I have a photo of this person. Her behavior was appalling and if this is how she regularly treats customers, she should be fired. Because of this front desk woman, I would not tell friends to stay at The Castle Hotel, even though the hotel itself was quite nice.
