Pros:

Geweldig hotel, zeer goede service. Zwembad was top. Alles netjes voor elkaar.

Had a great stay—trendy, pretty decor set a modern vibe. Staff were super helpful, accommodating every request. Breakfast had great variety and was delicious. The new surrounding area is comfy with tons of nearby restaurants.

One minor issue: A mosquito in the room bit me a few times on my last night. Still highly recommend!

Wunderschönes, luxuriöses Hotel, aber der Aufenthalt wurde durch ein unprofessionelles Verhalten an der Rezeption beim C

Die Unterkunft ist wirklich wunderschön eingerichtet – sehr stilvoll, luxuriös und mit viel Liebe zum Detail dekoriert. Unser Zimmer war großzügig geschnitten, modern ausgestattet und hatte wirklich alles, was man braucht. Besonders beeindruckend war auch die schöne Aussicht vom Hotel. Ein großes Lob geht zudem an das Reinigungspersonal: sie waren sehr korrekt, aufmerksam und ausgesprochen freundlich. Auch das restliche Personal – insbesondere am Pool und der Portier – war stets zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich. Insgesamt ein sehr beeindruckendes Ambiente!

Cons:

Leider war unser Aufenthalt von mehreren negativen Erfahrungen geprägt. Bereits 2–3 Wochen vor unserer Anreise hatte ich über Booking.com eine Anfrage für einen früheren Check-in gestellt (da wir gegen 13 Uhr ankamen und das reguläre Check-in erst ab 16 Uhr möglich war). Da ich darauf nur eine unklare Antwort erhielt, habe ich Booking.com telefonisch kontaktiert. Auf meinen Wunsch hin nahm Booking.com daraufhin direkt Kontakt mit der Unterkunft auf. Bei unserer Ankunft wusste die Rezeption jedoch nichts von dieser Anfrage – ein sehr unprofessionelles Vorgehen.

Als wir dann um 16 Uhr einchecken wollten, wurde uns ohne jede Erklärung mitgeteilt, dass unser Zimmer noch nicht bereit sei und wir weitere 1–2 Stunden warten müssten. Besonders enttäuschend war, dass eine Familie direkt nach uns problemlos einchecken konnte. Erst nach meiner deutlichen Beschwerde bekamen wir ein alternatives Zimmer – gleicher Größe, aber mit leicht anderer Ausstattung.

Beim Check-in kam es zudem zu einer extrem unangenehmen Situation: Auf meine Nachfrage zur Zahlungsweise – da ich die erste Formulierung aufgrund der Sprachbarriere nicht verstanden hatte – wurde ich von der Rezeptionistin in einem absolut unangemessenen, aggressiven Ton angefahren („How do you want to pay?“). Als ich daraufhin „with credit card“ sagte und meine Karte hinhielt, riss sie mir diese auf schockierend respektlose Art direkt aus den Fingern. Ein solches Verhalten ist völlig inakzeptabel, besonders dann, wenn ein Gast lediglich um eine Wiederholung bittet.

Schlussendlich ist es nicht nur die schöne Einrichtung, die ein 5-Sterne-Hotel ausmacht – es ist vor allem das Personal, das den entscheidenden Unterschied macht. Die Rezeption stellt dabei den ersten Eindruck dar und prägt maßgeblich das gesamte Gästeerlebnis. Genau an diesem Punkt hat Kimpton Qiantan Shanghai leider völlig versagt und unsere Erwartungen massiv enttäuscht.
