Hotel Ankaa - Adults Only

Die Leute waren super nett im Hotel, die Lage auch gut zu Fuß. Das Frühstücksbuffet war lecker und der Pool mit den ausreichenden Liegeflächen perfekt . Allerdings sollte man kein Zimmer zur Straße nehmen, weil er ständig Autos fahren und es nachts laut ist.

The hotel is in a very good location literally 2 mins from the Cuevas Del Drach caves, a slight negative though is that it is on the main ring road into town and is quite busy/noisy at times esp as we had a front facing room. Only a gentle 6-7mins stroll into the harbour/town area which is very nice. Lots of lovely waterside bars/restaurants and a further few mins to the lovely small sand beach with more al fresco restaurants and shops. We found Porto Cristo to be more civilised than some other larger nearby resorts.

Rooms/bathrooms are small, clean but adequate and the cleaners to a great job. Beds we found to be quite hard.
Breakfast is quite varied and well presented but as in most cases the hot buffet selections could be hotter. The bacon is nice but very over cooked and easier to snap it than cut it!
Pool area is very nice with several options for sun, shade, beds or chairs etc

Drinks
The hotel drinks prices were the highest we saw in the local area which in our minds affected the hotel vibe somewhat. It was always very quiet and although we wouldn’t want it noisy or rowdy, we feel it affected the general atmosphere within, very few people would order a drink in the hotel bars so very few people mixed and chatted in the lovely communal areas..large beers were almost $7 and G&T almost €12, soft drinks $5-€6! I personally think if they’d lower the prices, they’d make more money as virtually nobody would buy the drinks so went outside.

Tip
Visiting the caves is a must but also you can just wander over there anytime (2mins walk) to openly use the cafe area, amazingly it’s the cheapest food, drinks & ice creams in Porto Cristo!!

Porto Cristo is a lovely little town and the hotel is very well situated, with a few minor tweaks it could be great.

Here at present. Staying in room 703 on the top floor. Pool/Mountain View which is also ideal for watching the sun set.
Sold as a superior room however, quite small in my opinion. Beds comfortable but only one pillow per person provided. We had to ask (twice!) for extra pillows. Air conditioning is poor. Ample for this time of year (October) but would not want to be staying at this hotel in the height of summer. No extractor fan in the bathroom - it’s small and gets very warm in there! Also worth noting that the TV signal is quite poor - didn’t bother us but might annoy some people.

Restaurant and bar staff lovely and friendly. Breakfast selection was OK. The freshly made pancakes were delicious but the scrambled egg was often cold. Banana doesn’t seem to be a popular fruit on offer sadly. It was only available on one of the days during our week-long stay. The cocktails are amazing and the limited food we did try from the bar menu was very tasty.

The outside space is nice. The gardens are well maintained but both pools appeared quite neglected. There were millipedes in both pools when we arrived however, we did notice the maintenance team cleaning them mid-week. It did however put us off using the pools.

Unfortunately we had an issue with a faulty kettle in our room. They weren’t able to replace this immediately and instead had to order from Amazon. We got a replacement after 24 hours but find it very strange that a hotel doesn’t have any spare kettles when things like this happen?!

The cleaners/maids work very hard but unfortunately, attention to detail is often missed. Our ‘used’ teaspoon was not replaced but instead just put back beside the cups and saucers. Our shower gel ran out this morning yet despite leaving the bottle in such a way that it was obvious it needed refilled, it wasn’t. I know these are minor details but….4* hotel?!

Overall, nice enough but compared to other 4* hotels that we have stayed in, we felt this hotel fell short and lacked attention to detail.

I came away with a friend and was welcomed with drinks on arrival. Room was clean but bathroom extremely small and not suitable for my needs.(jet2 had not sent anything through to update hotel). Once the manager Jacques was aware he immediately offered support. He went above and beyond to ensure the rest of our trip when smoothly-thank you. The excellent customer service we recieved has ensured that I would 100% recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
The pool was beautiful and plenty of loungers with very friendly staff making drinks and food. It was the perfect break for us thanks to Jacques and the team.

Location great. Lovely atmosphere, friendly, welcoming. Staff were brilliant. Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice for everyone. The only thing I would ask the Manager to do is to replace the two 4-slice domestic toasters with a proper hotel/catering industrial toaster as not all the toaster slots worked which made the whole process very slow indeed. Special mention to the egg/pancake station. Eggs, omelettes and pancakes to order was first class. We had a Superior Double Bedroom with balcony overlooking the pool and mountains in the distance. Clean, towels both bathroom and pool were good, bed really comfortable, shower excellent too. We had a lovely week here, first time on Majorca and would definitely return to Hotel Ankaa as it was walking distance into town, marina, shops, market, lovely little sandy beach etc. An absolute gem!! Thanks to all staff for making our stay special.

Highly recommend this hotel. A fabulous stay in refurbished modern surroundings. Beautiful pool area with comfortable loungers ( no need to reserve) . Excellent breakfast. Evenings also good but we did eat out a few times .Entertainment twice weekly. Very comfortable beds. Bar prices as expected . Wine cheaper than soft drinks. Staff are fabulous. Always eager to help in any way.
Hotel a short 15 min walk downhill into town/beach area. A lovely sandy shelving bay.
Amazing restaurants and pretty marina. A traditional working town. (No white concrete and bland surroundings).
I had not stayed in Majorca for many years and never on the east coast.
We all had a great time would not hesitate to return.

I went to this Hotel with my sister. What can I say the staff from the minute you arrive make you feel welcome. I have never stayed in a hotel where all the staff are so happy and friendly. Im 66 years old so have stayed in a few around the world. Nothing was to much trouble. My sister got bitten badly by mosquitos the manager was so helpful providing iodine to put on blisters. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxing. There was a wedding party arrive but for me it made the holiday.They were friendly and joined in with the dancing when they had a singer on. Caves of Drac are across the road, Porto Cristo 15 mins walk and 10 mins to beach.
I will go back again. I would highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I had a fantastic week in Porto Cristo staying at the Ankaa. We found the staff to be extremely friendly and attentive, rooms were spotless and big enough to fulfil our needs and the dining options were varied, fresh and plentiful. There is a large pool with plenty of loungers if sunbathing is your thing and they have a gym for anyone looking to keep in trim. A short walk takes you to the marina with wonderful restaurants and narrow streets full of shops and cafes.

We were part of a larger party in Porto Cristo for a wedding, and I completely disagree with the unfair negative reviews here regarding behaviour, yes some were a little louder than “Fred and Betty” sitting in the corner sipping their port, but this is to be expected when family and friends who might not have seen each other for some time meet for a special occasion as this was.

Regarding a comment inferring that the hotel advertises as a tranquil getaway yet booked a large wedding party…..as with any wedding, the invitation informs you of the wedding venue and in our case due to location, coupled with the fact that the bride and groom were staying here, a number of us independently booked the hotel.
Our group were nothing but courteous and friendly and were joined most evenings by other residents who happily participated in chat and merriment.

People really should consider the impact their reviews can have on a business and then reconsider posting them and I would urge those same people to delete the negative comments which were directed at the hotel because the hotel staff did everything possible to ensure all guests enjoyed their stay.

All in all a wonderful time was had and we will be returning.

I am a lady of a certain age going on a solo holiday was a little daunting but I cannot fault my stay everyone was super friendly and included me for chats, drinks and laughs! And felt totally at home!

The hotel is beautiful and spotlessly clean in all areas. Never a problem getting a bed around the pool area.
Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice particularly loved the omelette and pancake station!

There as definitely some lively nights with a large group of family celebrating a wedding, but they all were friendly and included me in chats and a friendly smile.

Some negative comments about this should not be reflected in the hotel! The staff, Jaques and his team were fabulous!

A very good hotel, with lots of nice little touches.
Welcome drinks on arrival, free pool towels and cabanas. Nice quality furnishings throughout the restaurant, pool and bar area. Good breakfast selection and quality (we didn’t have dinner), pool bar food also good.
Great pool and not freezing cold for a change !
Staff across the board all excellent, couldn’t do enough for us.
Ideal location as 10 minute walk from Porto Cristo marina front and restaurants. 15-20 minutes to town centre and beach. Across the road from the Caves of Drach attraction. A bus stop out front to access the rest of the surrounding areas.
The only black mark (nothing to do with the hotel, but river meeting sea etc) are the mosquitoes !
We arrived after a wet spell when it warmed up again, which brought even more of them out !

Just back from a fantastic week at The Ankaa hotel.
We travelled as a couple, my husband and myself, after reading brilliant reviews from this hotel and it did not disappoint.
On arrival there was slight confusion over the room I'd chosen, however the following morning this was resolved quickly with the staff taking my cases to another room and a bottle of cava on ice thrown in for good measure.
The room was spacious, clean, with wonderful views overlooking the marina.
The pool area was relaxing with sunbeds always available to use.
Evening entertainment was provided and was great fun with everyone dancing, singing and having a great time. Although we travelled alone we were made welcome and included in a group that were celebrating a family wedding.
They made our week and we have made friends for life.
Big shout out to the staff who went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy and having a great holiday. Special mention to Jaques who really knows how to look after his guests, perfect host!
Would 100% return to this fabulous hotel.

Look, I read the chorus of complaints about “rowdy drunk wedding guests by the pool, swearing late into the night.” After staying here, I can confirm: yes, the poolside could get lively, but the way those reviews made it sound, you’d think the apocalypse had arrived. In reality, it was more like a very spirited comedy show with a splash of fun. Laughter, chatter, and the occasional colourful word gave the place energy, not anarchy.

It’s also funny how nearly every negative review reads like a copy and paste operation. Same phrases, same grumbling, same obsession with silence. Makes you wonder if the fun-police have a group chat somewhere, taking turns submitting their misery.

Facilities are fantastic, spotless rooms, a pool that’s actually enjoyable, and a bar that serves excellent drinks while somehow making you question all your life choices (in the best way). And the staff? Absolutely incredible. Calm, professional, endlessly patient, and still smiling while serving breakfast to guests who clearly weren’t ready for polite conversation after some very lively evenings. They deserve medals, or at least a very loud round of applause.

If your idea of a perfect stay involves hushed silence and early nights, maybe try a monastery. But if you want a hotel with fantastic facilities, staff who genuinely care, and a little energy to make it memorable, this place is five stars without hesitation.

We have just arrived home from what a welcoming and lovely hotel!

Our rooms were lovely and clean and beds were very comfortable! Would definitely recommend.

Breakfast was lovely bits to choose from and we also mixed it up with some breakfasts down the harbour to keep things a bit different.

Fussio Lounge for a breakfast or dinner down the harbour is a big yes from me!

I was part of that 'wedding party' and being honest, so many lovely families come up to us and told us to enjoy. And the hotel done what they could to accommodate ALL parties on their stay at this hotel.

Someone mentioned about their reliable source with loadsssss of family members spewing in hallways, 67 people for that wedding and there was 1 that had a few to drink is all - not the many that you thought ;)

Bar area in the day is brilliant and the women that served my pink gins and lemonades was insane as I have never had a pink gin like it.

All staff accommodating and open to having conversations when needed and we were never made to feel a problem by the staff.

The fact the hotel has been knocked down on reviews for our party is atrocious. Get a villa next time in your own place :)

I’m here with my wife to celebrate our wedding and I can’t recommend this hotel enough, the facilities and the staff and the hotel manager were amazing, welcoming us here with champagne in our room, also on my birthday they gave me a cake and had all the guests singing happy birthday, which I was very moved by, I have noticed that there were a couple of negative comments about the behaviour of some of our excited younger guests who were I admit a bit loud round the pool at times and we asked them to keep it quiet and they did. The hotel should not be blamed for this behaviour as there were a large number of people in the party. The hotel is a large hotel with a lot of outside areas and you can find a quieter space if required. Those who have felt the need to write negative reviews on here against the hotel should realise that people do have big celebrations.where they want friends and family to be together. I would like to say thank you to the manager and his team for giving us a fantastic experience. Once again the Hotel, the Management and every member of staff were second to none We would highly recommend staying at the Ankaa Hotel.

Yes you may read mixed reviews of this hotel during the period of several days this week 11th sept onwards The only positive reviews are those who were part of the 'wedding party "solely because they write individually the reviews but they are probably part of this group you decide!!
Myself and many other guests staying at this hotel were subject to rude,and very loud noisey inconsiderate people during the day and especially in the evening
.No consideration for other guests who came to this hotel for a relaxing quiet holiday.
I also was advised by a reliable source that even one of "wedding party "was vomiting in corridor the night of the wedding.
Our stay at this hotel was spoilt by the behavior of this group, however Jacques the manager did try to make our stay a bit more comfortable by upgrading our room, other staff members do try to make your stay enjoyable, the food we found was limited at times could have been hotter.Maybe the hotel should consider to serve a selection soups as a starter and possibly ice cream as a sweet..just a thought!

Hotel location is great for the caves and a short walk to the harbor with shuttle train stop outside the hotel which saves the walk!!

The staff are absolutely top class. It started with Oxana on reception who greeted us with champagne or orange juice on arrival after horrendous delays.
The manager, Jacques is constantly buzzing around the whole complex making sure everyone is happy and have what they need. He,s backed up by very attentive experienced staff at all times but the stand outs are Diagny and Stefan, they go above and beyond every day.
As a base in Majorca it's hard to think of anywhere better, it's closing soon but as soon as it reopens we're on our way back.

We had a great stay at hotel Anka for a family wedding down by the harbour. The beach and harbour were both within walking distance (approx. 10 minutes) and full of restaurants/shops, there are also shops in closer proximity to the hotel which was handy.

The hotel cannot be faulted, it is well located, clean and modernised throughout. The breakfast buffet has something for everyone and was always fresh, including an omelette/pancake station.

Various styles of beds around the pool and always enough for everyone, so no running down at 8am to get a space. Plus a more secluded pool above the bar area for those wanting some quiet time. There is a nice seating area around the pool with a bar serving drinks and food all day which was well used and enjoyed by our group.

Whilst there were some complaints made about the noise of the “wedding group”, the hotel staff were very respectful about this and worked well to meet the needs of those wanting a more quieter break, but still allowing us to enjoy ours too. The evening entertainment had everyone up dancing, including other guests joining our group for some fun!

Thanks to Jacques and all the other hotel staff for your hospitality! You made the stay even better :)

Me and my wife came to hotel Anka for a last minute autumn holiday. This hotel has a lovely atmosphere, the rooms are modern and clean with comfortable beds and a powerful shower. The pool area is great size with more than enough beds and a lovely snack bar. The staff make this hotel even better, they are so friendly and accommodating to all, particularly Jacques and Coral. Upon arrival we had welcome drinks and snacks which was a nice touch.

I would like to make a side note that while yes, there did happen to be a wedding party there during our stay who were lively at times, this is obviously not a weekly occurrence. They were simply having a good time and I don’t think this needs to be reflected in others reviews. It was good to see people enioying themselves, particularly during the evening entertainment dancing etc.

I highly recommend this hotel, we had the best time. Everything was amazing, 10/10. The food, entertainment, the pool area, clean rooms, great location. The general manager was so accommodating, he was great and made our party feel so welcome, like a home from home. I cannot fault anything about our stay. I will definitely be returning. Thank you for making our holiday the best!

Last few days slightly noisy as a wedding party were in the hotel but the staff managed it well & it didn't spoil our holiday.
Would deffo go back, our daughter we t earlier in the year & recommended this hotel & we are so glad she did as we loved it
