Clean ,ambiance and beautiful views

The location of the hotel was amazing. Our room was lovely but we didn't have the best view. The cleanliness of our room was immaculate but our complimentary teas etc weren't replenished every day . The restaurant was ok it was run very well but the food wasn't always hot . The service in the dining room and bar is fantastic .

Rather disappointing.

Although the hotel has the infrastructure for a 5 star hotel, the staff in the main (only a handful of exceptions, see below) appear to be disgruntled, annoyed that guests are interrupting them, and they generally have a “can’t do attitude”.

Food in the buffet restaurant was, pretty much without exception cold. Even though you can watch food being cooked, at the live cooking stations, the food is then placed on a tray and put in a storage unit and a previously made tray is used to restock the counter serving area, earning the freshly cooked food isn’t fresh or hot by the time it’s served. Doesn’t help that there are no hot plates for guests. We did complain and were told they were aware of issues and people had complained; but it was clear no action was being taken.

Strongly recommend that you don’t bother with half board, there are loads of excellent restaurants within a five minute walk. We had been half board but ate out after the first 3 nights.

The pools are nice, bedrooms comfortable and shower was excellent, the 2 pool bars for lunch were reasonable and food was served hot. I did appreciate that they don’t serve chips / French fries at either snack bar so there was no horrid greasy frying smell.

I will call out that pool towels can be exchanged 10-12 daily, and they guy who manned the hut on out first day was helpful. We arrived the previous evening and were given no information about pool towels being in the room, so the following morning I’d gone for a swim and got out to go to the towel hut to collect a towel; not realising that it was towel exchange and he mentioned pool towels were in the room, which we’d not been aware of nor seen. He could see I was wet and frustrated with the situation so he decided to resolve the issue and gave me 2 towels, despite it being against the rules. Thank you to him. Housekeeping staff also cheerful.

Location was great, hotel was superb, staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were great and well equipped, cleanliness was outstanding, customer service was second to none, the choice of amenities were great

On check in we were greeted by Margret from Iceland of all places she was really lovely and a credit to the hotel which is stunning. We did request a quite room in advance which was accommodated..
