DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!! There are too many other really great places to stay that are very near by, wish I had. We stayed three nights, two of which were hell. The air conditioning did not function on those two nights. You can't open the windows AT ALL because the cathedral is there and the clock chimes very loudly about every 15 minutes. Also, it's in a quad area filled with bustling restaurants and tons of people that party until very early in the morning. We asked them to fix the air conditioning all day after the first night, they kept saying they were working on it. But no technician was sent and they refused to call the manager of the hotel who was apparently unavailable. Inexcusable that it had to go another nights when they had the entire day to fix it. The manager agreed to refund two nights stay as we were leaving but said we had to go through booking.com. Of course that was just a lie to get us out of there and pay our bill. I disputed with my CC and also could not get them to honor their promise. The hotel smelled liked sewage in the elevator and in the outdoor bar upstairs. Service was terrible, trying to get a drink at the pool was impossible and the bar was filthy. Dirty glasses and dishes everywhere. Towels in the bathroom were really weird. Just stay somewhere else. There are several really nice hotel near the beach and beach clubs that are marvelous. These guys have way too many excuses for poor service and non functioning facility.
Great location right across from cathedral. Rooms were good size and had everything you need. Rooftop is small but cute pool and overlooks the cathedral. Breakfast is worth it too compared to others on the square.
This was a lovely hotel in an absolutely fantastic location!
The staff were exceptional, very welcoming and honestly made our stay.
The rooftop pool was stunning, with a number of comfortable seating areas.
We have seen reviews that say it was loud. Considering we were right next to the bar, we heard nothing!!
There were just a few things that let it down.
There was a slight smell of sewage that came from the bathroom, and also lingered across the hallway.
The bathroom extractor and the ac made some strange sounds, which were a bit irritating.
The bathroom light was controlled by an external panel. Although the panel was really cool, it meant going into the toilet at night was difficult.
There was also one pillow per person rather than the standard two. However, i am sure if we asked, they would have given us some.
Overall, we really enjoyed the stay and would return.
We paid a fair bit of money for our junior suite ( room 3.01) and were very disappointed.
When we arrived at the hotel we were asked by reception if we had booked in online - and as we had we were then taken directly to our room and handed the key card.
There was no opportunity to discuss facilities or ask questions about the local area.
The room lighting and curtains are automated, nice idea but only if it works and ours didn’t, one of the two curtains kept opening every time we entered the room and putting on just a small light rather than a blaze of overhead lights wasn’t possible.
Our room was directly below the hotel rooftop bar, which is open to the general public, for both of our two nights we were kept awake beyond 1am by the constant scraping of bar stools and chairs on the floor above.
The pool area offers great views of the cathedral, but you can only drink beer from a paper cup ( why not plastic at least) and you have to order via Q card, and there are only three sun loungers, there are chairs but not very comfortable and some had torn cushions.
The black walls inside the hotel public spaces are so each depressing and the red panels give the appearance of a bordello.
The small details were missing, slow service when ordering drinks at the bar, nothing to stir coffee/tea in the room, city map provided but on our second day, breakfast setting missing a knife, towels changed but replacement towels provided some time later.
Warning google maps directions will take you down very narrow old town streets where eventually you will become stuck and unable to reach the hotel, every other old town hotel in Spain always warned us of this - but Hotel Olom didn’t.
I sense the Hotel is trying hard, but they need to really assess how the hotel is operating and understand why some guests will regret staying here
Gorgeous roof terrace views of the cathedral and absolutely a perfect central location to explore on foot what Cadiz has to offer. I really wanted to like this hotel more but a few things let it down. The plethora of emails before arriving asking me to check-in online rather than on arrival was simply annoying as I was trying to enjoy another hotel in another city first. The hotel itself is really dark for some reason and the rooms are fairly small but given it's central location and we were only there two nights we were fine however a few things in the room just didn't work - mainly the air conditioning - literally....told me it was at its lowest temp of 16 degrees but on a 31 degree day it was just so so hot it was uncomfortable. The light panels are also annoying, in that they are controlled centrally so if you need the loo in the night (with a horrible door that wouldn't close properly) you need to fumble with the switch in the main room, as are the curtains opened here too. Quirky but a bit annoying, as is the table top record player, quirky but just not needed and takes up space that could be better used. We did have an iron but no board. Breakfast in the morning was just okay- thought it could be better. All in all, just an okay hotel but the rooftop pool and view really does make up for it all
Loved this location, rooftop and staff! 10/10.
A really beautiful stylish hotel. The rooftop pool is incredible. The view is absolutely amazing. The cocktail bar (whilst very overpriced) is also beautiful. The room was very stylish but lacked practicality. Only 5 coat hangers on a rail open to the room. No drawers. Limited table top space to put things on. The room was not as big as the pictures suggested, especially for a superior room. However, if you are willing to sacrifice this, the location, staff and style completely make up for it
Emplacement unique, gentillesse du personnel, piscine agreable
Great location and room. Wonderful pool
A lovely boutique hotel, perfectly situated in a beautiful square opposite the Cathedral.
Lovely staff, upbeat and full of energy. Really helpful with restaurant ideas/bookings and for key places to visit in this really interesting city. Our room was quiet and very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic. Highly recommended!
Brilliant staff - fantastic service - lovely breakfast. Thank you
We visited for breakfast as a party of 6. Christina served us. We had the set breakfast menu which was fabulous with a wide variety of choice. One of the party required gluten free and had a range of choice. There was a drink/ juice/ breads and a good choice of main all for €15.
Christina was very attentive, friendly and professional.
Would definitely recommend
We had the junior suite facing the Cathedral so our view was so special. The room was lovely, stylish and comfortable. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed our breakfasts. It was pretty much perfect. Thank you.
Lovely hotel in the centre of Cadiz, staff all lovely and helpful. Room very clean, comfy bed and lots of little extras.
Rooftop pool is cute and there is a cocktail bar which was unfortunately closed on the night I went. Beautiful restaurant on the ground floor.
Location: 10/10 right in the heart of the square in Old Town our room faced the Cathedral and had a little balcony.
Staff: 10/10 outstanding service. We enjoyed the small fruit plate with granola upon arrival. Plus we were able to check in early
Room: 8/10 nice but the smart technology took a bit to get use to but loved how the curtains opened when we entered. Also, hooking up music was great. Not sure I would install in my house now that I've tried it out. Shower - just weird. Missed too low and sprayed over the floor plus hard to regulate temperature.
Record/vinyl player just took up space. Loved the scratchy towels - I will order some myself. Floors are dark and hard to adjust to when you get off the elevator. TV should include one English News Channel like CNN.
Restaurant (Breakfast) - honestly didn't try. We would have like breakfast in there but it was €15 each and not suitable for vegan at that price. They should have a small menu in which to order items without having to buy-in to their breakfast. Plus, cafe beside didn't open until 10am so you are forced to go elsewhere.
For dinner - although nice menu, the menu was pricey so didn't indulge.
Negative: For all the smart systems in the hotel, access to the rooms via elevator did not have secure access. Anyone walking in from the square or the restaurant could simply access the various floors via the elevator.
Muy bien localizada, fácil acceso a todos los lugares a visitar
I LOVED my stay at Hotel OLOM. They were incredibly accommodating, friendly and the restaurant served one of the best meals I had while in Cadiz. The rooftop is beautiful and they are extremely pet-friendly (the restaurant AND rooftop bar have menus for dogs!) A special thanks to Amada and team for making me and my pup’s stay so special.
Excellent location, staff very nice , room was wonderful
La vue sur la cathédrale et le petit déjeuner!
Excellent
