Was ok but wouldn't return
Pros:

Good location close to centre of Velez Málaga and within walking distance of the beach and the fortress. Large room with air-conditioning.

Cons:

Room had dust under the bed. Curtain rail fell down twice. The door to room needed fixing. The hotel supplied a kettle but no cups. Building works were being carried out drilling, plastering, and painting. There wasn't enough hot water for 2 people to shower. Not staffed 24h. The booking says breakfast included but no breakfast was available.

“Hotel” básico, más bien apartamento.
Pros:

La amplitud de la habitación y del baño, que tiene microondas y frigorífico con un pequeño congelador. La limpieza y la atención de los recepcionistas. Que se puede aparcar en la zona.

Cons:

El colchón no era cómodo y las almohadas aún menos, súper altas. No hay aislamiento ninguno del sonido de fuera. Luego de las habitaciones cercanas se escuchaba todo. Lo malo de no tener recepción 24 h q no te puedes quejar a nadie. Nosotros tuvimos que llamar a la policía porque una noche había gente abajo en la calle formando alboroto y se escuchaba desde un tercero… No limpian la habitación de una noche a otra ni cambian las toallas, se suponía q es un hotel no un apartamento, no había mesita ni enchufe cerca de la cama. Sugeriría poner algo básico: unos colgadores tanto en la habitación que hay un pasillo muy largo para poner alguno y en el baño, y alguna mesa y silla.

Not really a hotel, more like an unstaffed guest house

Very spacious room. Fairly handy location to reach from the A7 motorway

Cons:

Shower is ridiculously complicated. Plaster falling from ceiling after a rainstorm. No facilities at all, no bar, no restaurant, not even a vending machine. Microwave in room, but would prefer a kettle and some basic tea & coffee provisions. Parking is in very short supply, it's a residential area and we had to walk back quite a few minutes from where we could park. The town is quite boring, just a handful of cafes in the vicinity

The Velis Hotel far exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff were exceptionally pleasant, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The check-in process was seamless and efficient, just like checkout, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free.

My quarters were much larger than expected, boasting a spacious layout with one large double bed and two single beds. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and carried a fresh, welcoming scent. It felt both modern and homely, which made my stay even more comfortable.

I was particularly impressed that the reception opened at least half an hour earlier to facilitate early check-in. Additionally, the reception staff stayed available after hours, which I found extremely convenient and reassuring. Small touches like these made a huge difference and showed how much the hotel values its guests’ comfort.

Overall, Velis Hotel delivers a rare combination of efficiency, warmth, and comfort. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the surrounding areas who values excellent service, spacious accommodations, and genuine hospitality.

Limpieza fatal,polvo ,las sábanas de una cama sucias,suelo sin fregar,el baño estaba bien pero un olor muy desagradable a tuberías cuando lo usas, mucho ruido de noche,en la habitación de arriba toda la noche dando golpes a cada rato y los coches también, a la hora de salir nadie en recepción por lo cual no puedes dar las quejas, recepción sólo abierta de tarde,escaleras para entrar cargando el equipaje
