Food excellent pools good great fun for the grandkids

Clean, lovely polite reception staff, life guard and bar staff, comfy bed, rooms cleaned daily and reasonable size, showers were powerful and always hot. Short transfer from airport not too far from the beach and bars and restaurants (assuming beach access evens is open, but be aware this is closed by 6pm). Lots of ice avaliable at the bars and drinks coke/ fanta/sprite dispensers that kids could use easily and quickly.

We had read quite a few mixed reviews about this hotel before our stay, but we decided to come with an open mind. As we were travelling with two teenagers, we thought the waterslides and the entertainment might outweigh some of the inevitable downsides of a large all-inclusive resort, such as crowds and canteen-style food.

On the positive side, the hotel is well located, close to the beach and the centre of Magaluf. All the staff we encountered — at reception, in the restaurant and with the animation team — were friendly, helpful and service-minded.

Unfortunately, that is where the positives largely end. In all our years of travelling and reviewing hotels, we have rarely experienced a property with so many issues.

Just to mention a few:

- We specifically requested a top-floor room but were given a ground-floor apartment instead.
- Although the apartment was spacious, which was appreciated, there were multiple visible mould spots on the walls, both in the living room and the bathroom.
- We are used to hotels in Spain having limited sound insulation, but this was on another level. We could hear virtually every word spoken by our neighbours.
- The pool area looked extremely tired and in need of refurbishment. The sunbeds were completely worn out and so uncomfortable that it felt almost like lying directly on the floor.
- A large part of the pool area also appeared poorly maintained and simply dirty.

Overall, we felt that the hotel does not offer good value for money, even taking the waterslides into consideration. Compared with other 4-star hotels in Mallorca, we expected a significantly higher standard.

It is honestly a shame, because the hotel has great potential: the location is good, the staff are lovely, and the waterslides are a real asset for families with teenagers. However, the property is in desperate need of a substantial renovation and refurbishment, both inside and out, to bring it up to the standard expected of a 4-star hotel.
