Salmo Hotel

Excellent place

Our stay was very comfortable. The suite was comfort and clean. Had pretty much all that we needed. Friendly staff that were helpful. Location is great.
Downside: the internet was non existent.

The check in was quick and efficient at the hotel bar. The room was surprisingly spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. There was also a decent sized kitchenette, far better than many other Motels I’ve stayed at. Salmo is a small town so don’t expect lots of restaurants although there was a local brewery serving food just a couple of minutes walk away as well as the hotel bar. A couple of other stores which were shut by the time I had arrived.

You need to check in at the bar downstairs. Cassie (I think that’s her name) was absolutely wonderful during the check in process. She gave me a hand written welcome note with the door codes and wifi login info. Cassie serves as the housekeeper for the property too.
The room (room #5) that I rented was absolutely huge! It was actually a large suite. Everything worked well in the room including the portable air conditioner. Bed was too soft and springy for me though. The traffic noise also gets a bit loud, but that is to be expected with the hotel located right next to the main road. All in all, I would definitely stay there again.

Staff was very friendly, efficient, and professional. Food was excellent and a great value. Will definately stay here again in the future, highly recommend.

Need proper curtains not the sheer ones you can see through. Especially in the bedroom and bathroom. No hot water in sink in bedroom. Ran the water for couple mins no hot ever came out.

So much potential for such a classic old building. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, particularly at check-in, but, even though they seem to be doing their best to update the accommodations, the resources required may be beyond their reach. I wish them well. Although we were aware that the night we were there was Karaoke night, we didn't expect the noise level to go until 1:30 in the morning. Following that, patrons leaving made it impossible to fall asleep until after 2. Regardless, I do feel sorry for them in a once great little town

This suite had been renovated and it was done very modern. We stayed on a Saturday night the first stay of our Kootenay road trip. We got in at 9ish and the only place open was the subway for food. This was an amazing stay we would definitely stay again and this time longer to adventure around town.

This is an old hotel/pub. There is lots of character. If you are looking for a modern chain, this is not it.

What a wonderful stay! The room (apartment really!) was spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen area was really handy, the living area was comfortable and the bed was great! The hotel and restaurant staff was wonderful - eager to help, efficient and super friendly. The hotel is in the center of this lovely, small town so everything was walkable. We were lucky enough to be in town for Canada Day and everyone we met was friendly, kind and gracious to us. It was a weekend we will always remember!

Want to check in ,waited a while hour and never got helped ,ended up leaveing and not even checking in ,not worth the money

A small room above the saloon with paper thin walls and floors. Loud music til 1am. We’re not sure how it got a rating of 9.2 on Hotels.com.

Nice rooms with full kitchens.

Nice to stay here where you can get dinner and drinks.

Good bar. Great beds, sofas and bedding.
