Once I finally received contact from the proprietors, things went smoothly, though I didn't receive any message from them upon placing my booking and they didn't respond to my initial email or phone call. When I phoned them on the second day, they instantly provided check-in information, and from there, things went smoothly.
My unit was on the 38th floor and was well located about a ten minute walk from Rogers Centre. It was clean and sparsely furnished, though it had a full kitchen. The soundproofing wasn't great, and even from so high up, it was easy to hear the noises of the city. The blinds didn't stop any light from coming in, and the place got pretty warm in the morning sunshine.
a - elevator was a disaster. 2 or 3 did not work and it could take up to 25 minutes to wait to get on an elevator up or down at times.. was a massive time waste
b - place was totally fine.. just all furniture was a bit older and broken down.
c - fridge wasn't cold. Microwave didn't work.
location, view beautiful and all was easy to navigate
Carpets were not clean, microwave didn’t work, no coffee maker, front door handle very loose and concerning especially because we were women staying there worried someone could just rip it off and break in. Property owner was very nice but unsure where the non-refundable $138 cleaning fee was necessary after seeing the state of the carpets and the need for things to be fixed. Hopefully that gets done with our payment. To no fault of the property owner there was only one elevator available for 27 floors so there was an extremely long wait for the elevator every time. Bathrooms were clean which was nice but no garbages in the bathrooms and only one in the kitchen. Bedding and hard floors were clean. Property was nicely downtown within walking distance of plenty of places
Our stay here was great! We were a group of 5, and everything was very clean. The location was perfect, just a short walk to all the best spots and food places. The only two downsides were that the microwave didn’t work, and the elevators were out of service one day, so we had to take the stairs from the 25th floor
THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING. There is no such thing as "Movich Inn." If you book this, you're booking an Airbnb, but they don't tell you that. I booked this for 2 nights thinking it would be a nice little hotel to stay in with my kids. I got a call while we were on the road telling me to check in at 101 Peter St. instead of at 21 Iceboat Terr., where the listing says the "Inn" is located. When I got to 101 Peter St., it was a condo building, not a hotel, and the security guard had no clue what I was talking about when I told him I had a reservation there. I called the guy who called me and told me to go there, and he said he'd text me the info to get into the "hotel." When we finally got into the condo, (where we were supposed to find a key behind a flower pot) there was no power! I called the condo owner whose number had been sent in the text, and she told me she'd call me back but never did. I called the other guy again and he said he'd rebook me in the original place on Iceboat Terr. and texted me how to go there. I had to drive in crazy traffic with my two young kids through party-central Saturday night Toronto to a real estate office to get a key out of a lock box, then find the new building, where there was no parking available anywhere. When we were finally able to get in, the text message said "do not engage with the concierge," so it's pretty clear these are illegal Airbnbs. We stayed 1 night since we had nowhere else then left & booked a real hotel for night 2.
Good
I originally booked my accommodation at Movich Inn at 21 Iceberg Terr, on my day of arrival I received a message asking me checking in to 101 Peter Street. It’s kind of like cheating. Very disappointed!!!
