Perfect short stay for a night away
Pros:

Lovely room and breakfast was excellent. Located away from the centre but within walking distance. Private car park which had charging for an electric car. Was able to pay for early check in which was really helpful for us.

Cons:

I would have loved a bath in the bathroom.

Pros:

It was beautifully decorated, clean, felt premium and all the staff were super friendly. It was really quiet too which was great and only a 5 minute Uber to where we needed to be in the city centre.

Book direct if you don’t want to pay for parking
Pros:

Great location, nice building, good breakfast, excellent staff.

Cons:

Thought it was a little expensive at £200 and was quite miffed to be charged £15 for parking. Apparently if you book direct you aren’t charged for parking, shame to penalise Booking.com customers.

Enjoyable stay spoiled by the noise from the road, though would recommend if I could specify which room.
Pros:

Beautiful building, plenty of parking and easy walk into town

Cons:

Noisy at the front of the building due to the road, which didn’t change throughout the night. Heating was on full blast at night, so woke up and had to turn off all the radiators.

Welcoming, friendly and cosy.
Pros:

We liked our welcome and tour of the hotel. Our rooms were cosy, clean and quiet. I especially liked our room as we had a settee and window seat. My daughters didn't have this in their rooms. We chose our breakfasts from the list and the next morning, the chef introduced himself, explained about breakfast and cooked our choices. Very good. Check in and check out online were easy. Parking on site was good.

Excellently presented hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff. Well equipped and hosted.
Pros:

Really communicative and welcoming staff, excellent breakfast and very nicely decorated hotel and room. Location very easy for central York. Parking arrangements also good.
