Pros:

At check in was asked if attending a party at the Settling Rooms tonight. We were. Another couple had checked in and were up for sharing an Uber. I said we would and our room no. was given to other couple. Very helpful.

Pros:

The location was brilliant. Old English still. The parking was sufficient and safe. The room was clean and The bedsheets smelled beautiful.

Cons:

The staff were unprofessional, talking loudly and being bossy. They asked for my card details, even though I had already paid for my three nights through Booking.com, a website I trust. Anyway, during my stay, nobody came to my room to change the towels or clean it. I was looking for three- or four-night stays weekly, but after all this, there’s no chance.

Wouldn’t return. Steep narrow stairs too dangerous when carrying cases etc.
Pros:

The staff were lovely. Nice clean bedding. Plenty of hot water. Spacious quad room.

Cons:

Narrow steep stairs to room. Traffic noise was loud. Beds were cheap and springs noisy. People above very noisy and could hear every step they took. Card entry in guest door once reception was closed. Foreigners seemed to bring in a lot of “friends” via card entry about 11.30. No sound proofing.

Reasonably priced stop on our road trip.
Pros:

This was the first stop on our journey North to Scotland. Our room was clean and comfortable.
We liked having access to some communal tables to eat our takeaway dinner at.

Cons:

There were only takeaway food offerings within walking distance of the Hotel, for dinner on a Wednesday night.
We could hear other residents leaving early in the morning.
