The location was great for us as we went to the
Royal Albert Hall. It was also close to the NHM and V&A. I would stay again but I would book a bigger room as the compact room has a very small bathroom.
No hairdryer in the room upon arrival. The hotel is unmanned and whilst the WhatsApp messaging and the staff interaction via this was great, it took an hour to get one.
The only positive aspect of this stay was finally checking out. The location was acceptable, but almost every other part of the experience was disappointing and far below expectations.
We arrived to a cold room and had to wait hours for management to bring a portable heater. The room was poorly equipped, with a fridge, kettle and coffee machine sharing only two power sockets, meaning we had to unplug one appliance to use another.
Basic amenities were missing, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand soap and slippers. Guests were expected to use shampoo as hand wash. Cleanliness was disappointing, with an opened coffee pod and a used lotion bottle left in the room. Dirty laundry bags were also left in the corridor creating unpleasant smells.
Breakfast was misleading. Although sold as included, it was served in a separate café five minutes away. The £34 allowance for two people barely covered a modest breakfast and drinks, and we still had to pay extra. The café was overcrowded and we had to wait outside for a table.
Management's response was the most disappointing part. After raising multiple complaints and requesting compensation, we were offered only a 5% discount on a future stay. Overall, this property was overpriced, poorly managed and failed to meet even basic expectations.
Smooth check in, no contact. Located nicely.
