Clean , extremely comfortable, beautiful shower room and a huge tv and to top it off a aircon that works
Great location and building, right next to the stump and market on a Saturday. Breakfast items availlable, a great option. Requested a room with air con - a huge bonus for a hot weekend! What a beautiful building!
Can't think of anything.
The location of the hotel was ideal for me as it was next door to the church. The lobby area was all very smart and clean and the room was a reasonable size with very nice modern shower room and everything was really clean.
The lack of any staff is rather strange and can feel rather isolating if you're on your own, with an eerie emptiness to the lobby area! But I got access to my room OK. I was lucky to find the people cleaning the rooms when I had checked into my room as I discovered there was no fan and the room was unbearably hot. Thankfully they found me a fan but if they hadn't been in the building when I arrived, this could have been a significant issue. It's not the hotel's fault that I happened to be staying on one of the hottest nights ever, but the room was uncomfortably hot (at one point I noticed the room thermostat said 31 degrees and I think it had been hotter the afternoon before!) even with the fan going and it was only bearable if you were right in front of the fan.
Location and parking
No staff anywhere. Two flights of stairs with heavy luggage. Room 31 degrees on arrival and 29 degrees next morning. Only one chair between two of us. A very scant breakfast offering so we went to a local cafe instead.
Good location. Great view. Clean
Room was like an oven. No air con in spite of what it said on website. My daughters room was unsafe with sun streaming in through skylight and window opening a couple of inches and not even a fan. After an hour of phone calls we managed to get her moved to another hotel where at least the window opened. Staff ere not even sympathetic I got about 3 hours sleep. The blinds were down to keep out the light - they also kept out any breeze there was and rattled all night as they were between 2 sets of windows There was a lot of noise from the street. The shower screen was about 30cm from the toilet and I banged my head on it in the night. The room was still 30 degrees in the morning. No lift - climbing stairs to second floor was unbearable as it was so hot. Don't stay here in a heat wave.
Conveniently located for where we needed to be
We thought the upgraded room we booked had air conditioning but ours didn’t have this whereas a friend in a cheaper room did! Ok, it was an exceptionally hot weekend but it was almost impossible to sleep with no or little movement of air with an inadequate small table fan.
It would also be nicer if the space between the inner and outer windows were kept a bit cleaner - pretty awful state when opening inner and outer windows to let in air.
There appeared to be a lift but not for guests to use.
Everything was wonderful
It’s in a good location.
My room was incredibly hot and there were dead insects on the floor. There was also no hot water at all in the shower. I don’t think it’s worth the rate as the room was very small and there are no staff on hand at reception.
Nice location, well kept.
Style and cleanliness
The room was excellent well kitted out only thing to let it down was the noise from the outside but also it’s not something that really can be avoided due to the location
Recently renovated to a very high standard good breakfast.
Great breakfast , tables outside would have of been helpful under the entrance.
Central location handy car parking only £4 for 24hrs
Clean, warm, very modern interior . Great shower 😊
No staff, if you can’t walk up stairs don’t book.
Large room very sparsely furnished, only 1 chair in room, poor storage, bedside light switch’s to far from bed. Bathroom poorly thought out, very small hand basin, with no overflow, and a lose plug not fixed with a chain. No electric shaver point, light on bathroom mirror u/s.
Self service breakfast,in a very small room, only 3 chairs. fancy coffee machine but cups too large to be used. Lots of flavoured yogurt but no plain,
Room was clean, bathroom and shower in good condition, bed was clean and made up nice.
The room I booked didn’t have any windows that opened or Air con, and I stayed during the hottest day of the heatwave, room stayed at 33 degrees the whole night even with the fan on so I got no sleep, which wasn’t ideal for my job as I work long hours early morning to late evenings
