Thumbs Down.
Pros:

Location, clean and comfortable.

Cons:

Unhelpful staff, the whole experience was unpleasant. We arrived early, public transport, so happy to sit and have a coffee. I told the check-in man I was hard if hearing, totally disregarded, so we arrived at the lifts, not told where they were, not aware of the card being needed to operate the lifts, another customer assisted us. Our room wasn't ready until 3.50 pm.
Breakfast was a joke, I had to ask for 6 items missing from the breakfast selection on the first morning.
The staff were all over the place, no system to check to fill up. Not told about different coffee machines in different locations. It was the same for the next 3 mornings.
People go away to relax and enjoy their break, sadly we did neither.
On the last morning I pointed out that the fresh milk wasn't fresh, it was on the turn, it wasn't changed.
On 2 mornings there was only cornflakes and cocopops for cereal, no thought to diabetic customers, such as sugar free museli or low sugar wheatabix. No wholemeal bread for toast.
Food these days isn't as short dated as it used to be, it is very poor to run out if so many items.
I worked in catering for over 20 years, I've never come across this many short comings before in one hotel before.

Pros:

Large modern peaceful bedroom

Cons:

Staffing levels at breakfast seemed to result in a failure to keep up with the consumption of the guests - especially when coach party guests hit the breakfast in one big crowd every day of the three days we were there. Their scrambled egg was a particular horror

Great hotel but ......
Pros:

I like the location, rooms and the view.

Cons:

I dont like the lack of care taken to run the hotel.
I had no soap in the room. Breakfast was poor.alll the pastries and fruit had been eaten and had not been replaced. There was no cups obvious for tea or coffee, they were in a cupboard underneath but with no sign There are no jugs for milk which is difficult if you have tea .
Such a shame it could be fantastic just lacks attention to detail.
