Great hotel.
Pros:

5 stars hotel in the city center. We stayed in a deluxe room in the 2nd floor very quiet. Both Bedroom and bathroom were spacious and very clean. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and there also was a pillow menu in case you needed something different, softer, natural fiber and so on . Also the night mask menu was a plus.
One morning my husband was feeling unwell and the breakfast staff was so kind as to arrange a tray to be brought to our room.

Cons:

Only a couple of downside:
1. The spa comes at an extra charge, which was not clearly advertised;
2. We got a ticket for parking right at the corner and we were not able to pay since the machine was not accepting card payment. We parked only to unload our suitcases and cane right down to move the car. It would be helpful to have either an unloading area or hotel staff to help you with directions for the nearest parking before getting a ticket (the police lady that day was on fire apparently).

Expensive with extra for the spa which is extortionate and totally not worth the money, missing the diner nice touches e
Pros:

Good location, lovely and old

Cons:

Food was rubbish, £19.50 for Andy salmon and cream cheese sandwich, 18.50 for a dry goats cheese sandwich. Extra £50 each to use the spa which was just a steam room, sauna and pool, nice setting but nothing overly special, no jacuzzi or plunge pool, different rooms etc, we also booked treatments and still had to pay extra for the spa! Was offered a drink in the spa, made out it was complimentary, ordered a coffee and when waitress brought it she made me get out of the pool to go and get my card to pay for it there and then! Big long hair on the bathroom floor on arrival into our room and just a double bed…it’s a 5 star hotel! Missing the little
Complimentary touches, and it’s not a cheap place for food, drink, spa and treatments. Double tree for me next time!

Beautiful building but still need to iron out a few service issues and their policies and procedures
Pros:

Beautiful building
Staff were (mainly) great
Gorgeous breakfast

Cons:

- Crazy that you can’t use the leisure facilities for free if you are a hotel guest.
- Shame bar didn’t stay open past midnight - there was a big group of us coming back from a wedding who would have stayed up and bought drinks
- I believe they left the bride and groom in the foyer and wouldn’t let them into their room because of a mix up with the bill. Given they had booked 65 rooms for the wedding I think they could have let them go to the room and sorted it in the morning!!
- hotel was overbooked so they tried to move people to a different hotel last minute. Shame it was the bride’s sister so she couldn’t stay with the wedding party.

Great location, gorgeous hotel and facilities overall, just think the price doesn’t accurately reflect the quality of th
Pros:

Beautiful decor and lovely wide corridors, lovely bar area and general facilities. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating, they even fixed the zip on our luggage without asking!

Cons:

We wasn’t impressed with the room, the lighting was poor with no lights in the wardrobe area or body sized mirror, it felt difficult preparing myself for the night out. My partner particularly found it difficult to do her makeup as there was hardly any mirrors, with lighting in the room. It felt pretty standard, small and slightly outdated for a 5* ‘deluxe’ room. But the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was relatively pleasant!
