Mersey great and handy
Pros:

Handy to Mersey
Staff and bar very good

Cons:

Too old
First room had strange smell, chemicals and pigeon poo, staff changed room for us but next room down in crypt, big and good facilities but felt like a dark dungeon
Made me realise I need a newer hotel

Great location and staff, let down by the price of the spa
Pros:

Great location, very friendly staff

Cons:

We didn’t think the spa warranted the price. There was a pool, a sauna, a steam room and an ice bucket, £50 pp was very expensive for what you got for your money, we were disappointed.

Overall we enjoyed it . Drinks quite expensive and service charge added .
Pros:

The staff were very obliging very polite and caring. The room had coffee and tea .

Cons:

The pool was not available for guests unless you paid extra .
A deluxe room was small . Very heigh ceilings and windows do not open . Air conditioning needed as the room was quite hot . Our room was quite cluttered with furniture reducing the floor space .

Pros:

Location was perfect and hotel is beautiful

Cons:

Upon check in the receptionist was very nice and showed us all the way to our room in the lower ground floor. What she onitted to mention was that it was not the room i booked but instead due to room availability i was downgraded and it was kepr hidden, hoping id never notice. When brought up with management i was issue a refund but it had to be paid through booking.com because i booked through them and im now waiting for booking.com to action and contact me about it. Its unfortunate for such a nice hotel that common courtesy of communication is lacking. In addition for the price being paid, its a little much to have to book and pay extra to use the hotel swimming pool
