The White Hart

Unfortunately the kitchen was out of action for dinner but this couldn't be helped and we were notified before arrival and given advise on local places for dinner. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the pub itself and garden are in a great location next to the river and just off the main road. I stayed in one of the rooms across the road rom the main building, a good size bathroom with plenty of space and a good shower although the ceiling could do with treatment. the room itself had plenty of space but the windows needed a clean and there were cobwebs in the net curtains. Overall this was a great stay for a good price and wouldn't definitely stay here again.

Beautiful location, very comfortable bed, great breakfast and very reasonable only being 25 mins from Bath.

We had Bybrook room,it was lovely, comfortable and clean. Food was very good. Stayed for 3 nights and ate at the restaurant every night. Breakfast was good. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would use again when up that way. Highly recommended.

Sweet country pub stay.

Excellent pub set in lovely surroundings with very friendly and efficient staff.

It's great character and perfect location.
We returned to the hotel about midnight after taking a relative home after a great meal. Parking over the bridge and walking across the car park in the dark was quite challenging. I did report it and suggested some low level lighting would be helpful even if it were sensor operated. They took note and said it would be brought the Managements attention.
Would be very happy to return and to recommend.

Location, room, pub, food and staff, it was all wonderful.
It was only one night but, if there will be a next time, will be more.

A lovely one night stop over while visiting the Chippenham area with friends. The pub is in a quiet village and has nice outdoor seating overlooking the river. The staff were friendly & helpful and the service good. Our room was comfortable, with ' free' tea/ coffee and home- made cookies (very nice). Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and fruit / cereal/ pastries were available. We really enjoyed our stay

A good pub with great food and nice rooms

The building, dining area and bar are very nice. My room was great. I had a difficult journey due to traffic and severe weather so hadn't booked to eat. They served me a meal, so I was lucky, but food service closed around 8pm. The waiter asked me to tip. I was going to anyway, as always do unless service is bad. But staff should not ask customers to tip. We are not in the USA.

The most authentic stay. Absolutely wonderful.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at The White Hart Inn! We were warmly welcomed and thoroughly looked after by all staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable with beautiful serene surroundings. We went on a lengthy walk from the pub up to Castle Combe and back down through the village of Long Dean that was absolutely stunning. Highly recommend a stay here to slow down and enjoy nature, would love to be back in the warmer months to enjoy the outdoors of the pub and the surrounding area.
