We chose to go for luxury for a special occasion and it came up to all our expectations.
Pros:

Efficient, guest-friendly, food good, easy access to main shopping areas. We had an invalid’s room which was very well set up.

Cons:

Our room had a poor view but the comfort made up for everything.

A stunning blend of modern, quirky rooms with historical views of beautiful Edinburgh
Pros:

The location was perfect. Easy parking under hotel with lifts direct into hotel lobby. Friendly attentive staff. Stunning views in Castle view rooms. Quirky, stylish rooms.

Cons:

Personally Not a fan of the toilet and shower being within the bedroom behind frosted glass. Apparently the twin rooms have private bathrooms though.

We waited over an hour for our bags to be delivered to the room, leading us to miss a reservation. We then received a wake up call at 5:45am to the room which we did not ask for.

Great staff, awesome room, location and the view
Pros:

The location and the building itself. It was very modern and clean.

A bit noisy since it's right in the heart of Edinburgh but windows are thick enough to block the noise.

I would not book it again
Pros:

Excellent location, and the hotel looks beautiful from the outside.
The receptionist lady at checkin desk was very friendly.

Cons:

The hotel does not give the impression of a 5-star property. While the room itself was clean, there was dust in the air, on the curtains, and embedded in the carpet, which also had visible stains.
The most unpleasant issue was the strong smell of fried food in the corridor. Walking from the elevator to the room meant the odor would cling to clothes and hair, which really diminished the overall experience — especially considering the high price expected for a 5-star stay.
I requested a room closer to the elevator to avoid this long, unpleasant walk, but the receptionist said the hotel was fully booked (which I found doubtful) and promised to try to arrange it for the following days. Unfortunately, this never happened.

AlsoWe paid the deposit with a debit card (we forgot the credit one), The receptionist assured us it wouldn’t be an issue and that we would simply tap the terminal at check-out to receive the refund. However, the machine didn’t work at check-out. Although we were told the money would still be returned, we left feeling somewhat unsure and concerned.
