Pros:

Very peaceful, clean, amazing facilities and had everything you needed. All of the staff very accommodating before, during and after the visit

Very nice room decor. Bathroom a lovely standard. Comfy bed. Location good

Cons:

Parking was stressful. Not having reception, it’s nice having a human to talk to ! Pillows not great. Rather to warm !

Cigarette smelling room & TV didn't have any sound
Pros:

The location was ideal for sightseeing, public transport

Cons:

On arrival the room stank of cigarettes & the TV wasnt working properly as it had no sound. Both issues were reported the 1st night in a phone call via the number from the information book in the room & to a male who appeared on reception, who wasnt interested as he never asked for our name or room number. No-one came to look at the TV. Another phone call was made the 2nd day & a message left to enquire why no-one had repaired the TV. Someone came to look at the TV that morning, confirmed the sound wasnt working & said it would be fixed whilst we were out. No-one came.
On our return home, the issues were reported by email to Mollie at the enquiries team at Old Abbey house, who apologized, said she would escalate to management & get back to me. Despite waiting a full week & 2 emails requesting an update, there has been no response from Mollie or anyone else. This is very disappointing as the old Abbey house is in a perfect spot

A relaxing place to return to after dealing with some difficult family issues
Pros:

Lovely bright, comfortable, quiet room. Enjoyed being able to look out onto the garden and Abbey Meadows. It is so central that it was east to walk to all the shops and cafes. Not far from the bus stop so didn't need to use the car while we were there.

Cons:

Found check in difficult as initially couldn't access my email as no 4G reception, was relieved to find WIFI code by check in machine. Luckily a young man came and helped as my first attempt failed and took me back to the start. Another older lady, like me told me that they had also had problems. so basically saying self check in not age friendly.

I would stay at the old abbey again as it was ideal for location but would take a different room.
Pros:

Its location was ideal for our needs.

Cons:

The stairs up to the loft room were a bit challenging for us and it was warm weather making the environment difficult at night.
