Excellent communication with the property staff throughout the stay. The room was a peaceful, quiet retreat in the heart of town - modern luxury tucked inside a beautifully preserved historic building.

The staff support was horrible, asked for a twin bed or a spare bed to cater to my 10 year old and they said they couldn't help and offered to charge me an extra room if I needed an extra bed. Doors are designed in a way that they keep slamming. Woke up at night every time someone entered or left their room.
I liked the location and the style of the property. The space in both rooms that we booked were great.
Both rooms had an instant mustiness to them. They felt that they hadn't been aired at all. They were both cold and there were no staff to ask how to heat the rooms so we had to use the small heater in the cupboard. The suite was dusty and had a large bumble bee alive by the bed. The bathroom had nowhere to put your toiletries so I had to use the floor (not ideal for any room but especially a suite). The suite as an amazing size but didn't feel warm or cosy as no carpet, large windows and the heating not really working. The HTR in the bathrooms hadn't been put on. It felt quite soulless due to no staff and even if no staff on the evening - at least prepare the rooms better and make sure they don't feel musty and unused when you know you have guests that have booked them. Car park was full but local car park was very close. Just had to unpack our belongings first and then go outside again to park the car.

Great location, close to everything. Good parking and close to the Waitrose. Bathroom and bed are comfortable and everything is clean.
Kitchen equipment could be updated. No coffee machine. The TV is super small and in the worst location in the bedroom.
Abbey House is not really a hotel as there are no staff or typical hotel facilities but we knew that before we booked. Check in was easy and help should you need anything was only a phone call away. We had a lovely, comfortable room in a beautiful house in the perfect location. Garden, parks and river walks on one side, historic Abingdon town centre with all the amenities you could need on the other. Unfortunately the area near the river was flooded when we went, but it was fine near the house and in town. Buses into Oxford were nearby and frequent until late in the evening.
Our room (4) had a kitchenette, the hob was useful but we missed having a microwave and toaster which I feel would have been much more useful than a full oven as on a short break you only really need to make breakfast or light meals. The heating was a bit temperamental, we had to call management once because it was a bit too cold but they were very responsive. It would be better if the guests had some degree of control over it.

Very clean and centrally located. Two mins walk to the centre
Beds and pillows very hard - would have struggled to have stayed another night. There are no staff there at all and no facilities so it’s like an abnb. Rooms are not made up and tea etc not replenished during your stay.
Really lovely, clean and spacious room. Particularly food fridge/freezer, kettle and hob helpful for preparing and storing baby’s milk and food. Friendly staff and quick responses when asking for things such as additional key card and earlier check in. Was self contained too which was nice.

All was good
It was really well located for the purpose of my trip and the gardens beautiful with lovely walks.
There are a couple of small things I would suggest to the management/owners to make it great. A bottle of water or two in the rooms would be really welcomed. Also a mirror in the bathroom that can be manoeuvred for putting make-up on would have made it so you’re not having to stretch around the sink to get closer to the mirror. Both minor things, it would make great additions. Thank you!
The place, as usual is beautiful. Staff are so attentive and lovely, they even remembered us from a previous stay. We will continue to stay at Old Abbey House again and again. Rooms are immaculate.

第一次住酒店住到呼吸困难。酒店两个房间、一个厨房、一个客厅，只有主卧的一个小窗开了几厘米的窗，空气完全不流通。晚上睡觉呼吸困难、头疼，几次跑到户外，而且窗帘无法拉上，一拉上更加不通气了，只能忍受呼吸困难和光线直射床上。房东说因为老房子的缘故，可以开换气扇，一开换气扇噪音大到讲话声音都听不清了。其实客厅有两个窗户原本是可以开的，却被钉死了。当地朋友说，是为了省钱。我住过欧洲、澳洲、亚洲很多古建筑酒店和民宿，第一次觉得英国人这么抠门。
I didn't expect to carry all my luggage to the top floor of the house. It was hard work when there is no staff to help and no lift.

It was a beautiful place and our suite was very clean, tidy and tasteful. It was a lovely large room and very comfy.
No real dislikes so this is quite hard as it was a great place but the kitchen had only two bowls and spoons so maybe another set could be added? Can’t really think of anything else.
