The advertisement pictures implied a quality hotel with hotel facilities. The hotel building was not functioning at all and quality was missing across the board. A few motel rooms only. This is a functioning fitness/spa club with a poor cafe style snack/bar facility only.
I book for my son 18. He enjoyed it
Nothing
The location was perfect for what we wanted to visit.
We should have been told that a prom was taking place, as we could not get our car out of the car park!
Comfortable bed and friendly reception staff.
The photo of the hotel is a beautiful Manor House hotel, when I arrived the house looked lovely. But I wasn’t in the house, I was in a “garden room” around the back of the hotel, room was really dated, no curtains just vertical blinds I had to repair to cover the windows. Derelict buildings next to the garden rooms, weeded over, ruined tennis court, rat boxes… desperately needs some money spending on it. When I checked in I discovered they weren’t serving food that evening due to “no staff” so I had to get back in my car and go eat elsewhere. Shower didn’t heat up to hot and ants in the room. In the morning the English breakfast was the worst I’ve had in a very long time, sausage, beans and black pudding was shrivelled and dried out obviously been hanging around for hours or reheated, egg was broken and bacon had an inch rind of raw fat.
Good facilities. Good size room.
The mattress was really not good. Very soft and dipped in places. Didn't have the best night's sleep.
When we arrived on a Friday night we found there was a School Prom function on in the evening through until 11pm. This was never mentioned when we were booking online.
Comfortable
Friendly staff
Lovely pool
Great gardens
Saunas great
The spa pool didn’t work
non slip mat could have reached further from the swimming pool to the mens changing rooms
Able to bring our dog, private entrance and patio area.
No restaurant
Old and interesting
A little run down
We had a garden room which was positioned perfectly. There were certain things in the room that were a bit tired and maybe needs a bit of money spent on them. The room was large and had its own terrace which was a bonus. Parking was plentiful and right outside the door to the room. We could of used the facilities but unfortunately we didn't have time but the grounds, swimming pool and gym were available.
We were a bit disappointed that the Manor doesn't have a restaurant, they have a cafe which serves food but not really a proper evening meal and it was closed by 9pm. We had to go out both nights we stayed to eat dinner which was a shame as the surroundings were lovely and an evening meal sat in the gardens would have been excellent.
NOTHING
we would like to speak with someone regarding a refund.
I booked this room for our Managing Director, he walked in to find the person on reception vaping, was given keys to a very hot, dirty and smelly room, walked straight back out and handed keys in to Reception who was now outside smoking, he found alternative accommodation elsewhere
Nothing
From the Hotel's website they actively promote to prospective guests “ a relaxing retreat in one our exquisite bedrooms” which encouraged me to make a booking. Imagine my surprise therefore on arrival at the Hotel to see a large white structure promoting “Prom 26”. Only at reception when I questioned the receptionist, (hoping that it was preparatory work for the following day), did I learn that the event was that evening.
At a wedding event, quests taking the associated accommodation with them, have fully knowledge of the event in advance. In our case of the independent traveller, there was no notification. It is therefore questionable practice to double sell the site, to someone wanting the reasonable expectation of a quiet nights sleep.
Our bedroom was located directly above the Event Area, let me explain what we had to endure.
The event kicked off at 8pm, as did my headache. This followed by 3 hrs. of what felt like continuous rolling thunder, repetitive drum beats, physical vibration with the room. Outside were screams, shouting, chanting and a mass choral sing along.
The impact on me and my wife was not only the night, but being wrecked for the following day, not good and not acceptable.
In making my complaint to staff, I got no response, even an attempt at an apology. I have received no reply to a written complaint from the management, clearly, they are content with practicing, Mis-description, misrepresentation and consequentially fraudulent behaviour.
Added to which the property is tired and broken, no bar or restaurant, the pool area broken and dirty, and a sad example of a cafe, with a limited choice of sandwiches? Avoid
