Rosedale Hotel

The hotel is a bit older and along the water, so has the wear and tear you would expect; however, the front desk guy (Chris I believe) was amazing and helpful. Rooms were very clean and couldn't beat the location and view.

After a noisy two nights in Inverness, this was the perfect place to stay. We loved hearing the waves and sea sounds at night, and it was fun using Portree as our central
Hub for exploring other parts of Skye. While the restaurant was closed while we were there, they had breakfast for us in the mornings. Krys was very helpful when we arrived and gave us a lot of tips! The detached shower head in a tub with no doors/curtain took a little getting used to so we didn’t spray the whole room, but we figured it out.

Very nice place to stay and location is excellent. Only issue we had was the restaurant and bar were closed. However, breakfast was still on and included in rate and was very good. We booked this hotel specifically because of in house food and drink so a little disappointed.

The first problem was that we were not advised in advance that there would be no restaurant or bar at the property.
The room was extremely small and the whole hotel is in need of refurbishment.
The staff were generally helpful and polite.

We had a lovely stay here! Great location right on the water, and easy to get to shops and restaurants. AMAZING breakfast!!!!-With beautiful views. It is a little bit of a maze to get to your room- tight, windy staircases, but the rooms are spacious, clean and have large bathrooms (at least ours did) I give it 4 stars out of 5 just because of the tightness of stairs but overall- we really liked it!

We had a very nice stay. The room was quite small, but the beds comfortable. Breakfast is based on a menue, what I dont like that much. I prefer buffet.

Staff and service was great, breakfast very good. Hotel,room very clean. Bed, linens comfortable, shower great water pressure and lots of hot water. But property is shabby,needs upkeep,improvements. Harbor area underwhelming. Not worth the price for a very mediocre waterfront area. Next time will stay farther out for better quality.

This place is an ok stay. It’s not horrible but it’s not fantastic either. Our room had a bathtub with a shower head BUT there was no shower head holder so you had to hold that the entire time you bathe. (Which got water everywhere) There was also mold on the ceiling from moisture and also in the bathtub grout) There’s no onsite parking for the facility & the fire alarm went off three times at 8am.

Fabulous room and delicious breakfast

We enjoyed our 2 nights at the Rosedale. It’s a quirky old building with lots of stairs but the rooms were nicely appointed and clean. Comfortable beds and lovely breakfast.

The breakfast is excellent. Lovely staff. The heating was making lots of noise so we had to turn it off on our second night for us to get a goodnight sleep. Overall, it was a lovely 2 night stay, with a clean room and almost brand bew bathroom.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was claen and fresh. Only downside is the hotel was suffering a little bit from end-of season tiredness. Carpets cleaned and decor re-freshed and I'm sure it will be lovely. Bedroom furnish was clean but a little dated.

I think there was a recent flood at the floors were all damp and dirty. There was a dehumidifier in the bedroom too.

This is an old and funky hotel in a great location right on the water and in the heart of the town. The room is fairly small but it was comfortable. The restaurant had good food but kind of a bland atmosphere. I recommend checking out the sister location at the Portree Hotel and Antlers bar. This hotel would be touch with people with mobility issues as the hallways and stairs are pretty tight. The one major con was one hallway in particular really smelled badly of cat pee. Maybe at one point this was a cat-friendly hotel but it was really bad. Other than that it was fine for my time there.
